  • Patent number: 5340075
Abstract: An improved ergonomic mouse pad is disclosed. The mouse pad comprises a four-sided pad constructed from non-skid polymer and having a substantially planar top surface for supporting a computer mouse. Three of the sides of the pad are supported by a vertical sidewall. The planar top surface proximate to the fourth side forms a curved region for facilitating the comfort and ease of use of the hand and wrist of a mouse user.

  • Patent number: 5284100
Abstract: The folding leg structure of a folding table is journalled for rotation in a cylindrical journal formed in a bracket which is bent-up from a strip of metal and secured to the bottom of a table. A downwardly-extending portion of the bracket has a flat horizontal surface containing an aperture in which a resilient bumper member having a high-friction surface is held. Four such brackets are used, one near each corner of the table, and the bumpers extend downwardly beyond all other portions of the table, when in its folded condition, so that a plurality of such tables can be stacked with the top of each table top contacted only by the bumpers of an adjacent folded table, thus avoiding marring and sideways slippage. An additional bracket and bumper may be mounted near the center of the underside of the table for additional support.

  • Patent number: 5253756
Abstract: A container for holding data-storage devices of different sizes, e.g. disks of various sizes, cartridges and cassettes. The container is provided with a plurality of trays, preferably identical to each other, which rest on the container bottom, each tray having a platform for receiving and holding data-storage devices Each tray can be turned either side up in the container, and each has support members which are of different heights on its opposite sides so that the platform is positioned higher or lower in the container depending on which way it is turned. The trays are placed in the container in an orientation selected to support the particular size of storage devices to be placed in them; for taller storage devices, the tray is preferably turned so its platform is lower, and vice versa when shorter storage devices are to be stored, whereby the tops of storage devices of different sizes can be made to lie at about the same height for convenient viewing and grasping.

  • Patent number: 5203086
Abstract: A hand-held cutter especially for mat or foam board comprises a body, with handle, carrying a sliding blade holder so that a cutting blade mounted on it can be extended for cutting, or withdrawn for safety when not in use; the holder is adapted to carry two parallel, spaced-apart blades when it is desired to make two parallel cuts in a board, and the body has an inclined-plane nose so the region between the two cuts can be "plowed out" to form a channel for receiving another piece of foam board. Each blade is mounted on an outboard side of the body so the blade and cut line can be easily seen during use. A clip-on angulation device is provided which, when clipped onto the bottom of the main body, provides an angled guide surface on which the body can be slid, when an angled cut is desired.

  • Patent number: 5147275
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically folding one or more sheets of paper into three substantially equal sections for later insertion into a mailing envelope. Rollers are used to introduce the sheet into a guide which guides the leading edge of the sheet back against an upstream line in the same sheet, where a first fold is to be made. Upon further operation, the lead edge of the sheet forces the upstream line in the sheet into a nip between two rollers, which then seize, pass and fold the sheet along the upstream line with the leading edge of the sheet still within the fold. Still further operation pulls the remaining loop and the remaining upstream portion of the sheet into the roller nip to form the desired second fold.

  • Patent number: 5142996
Abstract: A system for the firm, long-lived suppot of a table top on a pair of floor-mounting pedestals comprises a pair of parallel metal rails fastened to the underside of the table, on opposite sides on the center-line of the table top; a pair of pedestals are fastened to each of the two adjacent ends of the rails by bolts which pass through the pedestals and into internally-threaded inserts welded to vertical channel members, which channel members are in turn welded to the ends of the rails. In each such mounting assembly, the channel member has a rectangular horizontal cross-section, and extends beneath the level of the adjacent rail; one of the inserts in each mounting assembly is positioned below the level of the bottom of the associated rail. The inserts are positioned inside the channel member, with their open ends facing corresponding holes in the opposed wall of the channel member, through which holes and the mounting bolts extend into the inserts.

  • Patent number: 4936698
Abstract: A printer stand comprises a support base for holding a rear-ejection printer and a paper catcher mounted to the rear of said printer and extending rearwardly and upwardly therefrom. The catcher comprises a flat backer panel having bent-up side flanges and having a bent-up lower ledge for supporting the lower edge of a packet of sheets of paper resting against the backer panel. The catcher is mounted to the base for easy removal by providing a forwardly and downwardly extending slot at the rear of each side wall of the support base, into and out of which the panel can readily be slid; the side flanges are preferably spaced apart by only slightly more than the distance between the outer sides of the side walls, and the ledge is preferably at about right angles to the packer panel. The system provides stable support of the packet of sheets, is easily assembled and disassembled, and is inexpensively made from a single metal sheet by bending up the side flanges and the ledge.

  • Patent number: 4865286
Abstract: A stand for supporting a packet of fanned computer printout sheets which enables easy leafing forwardly and backwardly through the packet. A rear backer plate is provided with a forwardly and upwardly extending bottom ledge designed to hold the packet in a positionally-stable upright position, and a lower substantially horizontal plate with associated ledge supports those sheets which are turned down in the packet. The rear backing plate and the lower substantially horizontal backer plate are preferably hinged to each other to permit folding-up of the entire support into a compact configuration, and the ledge for the horizontal plate is preferably hinged so it can be swung upwardly and inwardly of the horizontal plate for use with packets of sheets of lesser height. An integral horizontal rear flange limits the rearward tilt of the rear backer plate to the desired angle.
