  • Patent number: 4555150
Abstract: A work station has a first substantially rectangular table having a top and supports for the top adjacent the ends of the top. A second substantially rectangular table is secured at a substantially right angle to the first table top with the rear edge of the second table top substantially aligned with the edge of one end of the first table top. The upper surface of the second table top lies in a plane below the plane of the lower surface of the first table top. A movable storage cabinet has a top which has a height and depth substantially equal to the height and depth of the second table top respectively for alternatively serving as an extension of the second table top or nesting under the first table top adjacent the end thereof remote from the second table. Advantageously the movable storage cabinet is mounted on supports such as casters which facilitate the movement of the cabinet on a floor.

  • Patent number: 4534109
Abstract: A scissors has first and second arms with each arm having a finger receiving portion at one end. There is a removable metal blade having an outer edge and an inner cutting edge for each arm. A flange on each arm abuts the outer edge of the respective blade. A pair of inward projections on each flange each has a forwardly extending nose portion and a sloping rear portion and is engaged in a complementary opening in the adjacent blade. A finger extending inwardly from the forward end of each flange overlies a portion of the adjacent blade and is adapted to be engaged by the blade of the other arm when the scissors is in the closed position. A pivot structure passes through the arms and blades securing them together.

  • Patent number: 4511111
Abstract: A portable keyboard support for use in combination with a table surface and a weight for supporting a keyboard has a first member adapted to overlie a table surface and support a weight for securing the first member to the table surface. A second member is located in front of and below the first member for supporting a keyboard and is connected by a third member to the first member. Advantageously, the second member slopes downwardly away from the third member and has a stop to prevent the keyboard from sliding off it. It is preferred to have the third member at right angles to the first member and adapted to abut against the front of the table.

  • Patent number: 4176753
Abstract: A hanging file support frame has a pair of file folder support rails and four corner fittings mounted on legs. Each corner fitting has a bottom wall, a rear wall and a flexible top wall forming a first opening for the reception of one end of a rail. The top and bottom walls form a front entry into the first opening for the passage of said one end of a rail into said first opening in a direction transverse to the length of the rail. The rear wall is substantially thicker than the top wall and the top wall is cantilevered from the rear portion of the rear wall. Flanges releasably lock the rail end into the first opening. A transverse member having hollow ends has one end passing through a second opening in the rear wall.

  • Patent number: 4145098
Abstract: An article of furnishing has a plurality of upstanding sheet panels and a substantially horizontal connecting panel removably connected to the upstanding panels. An upright adjacent each end of each upstanding panel is connected thereto by a sliding joint including at least one headed member on each upstanding panel for cooperation with a T-shaped opening in the upright. Advantageously, a substantially horizontal bottom panel is removably secured to bottom flanges on the upstanding panels by sliding fittings. A shelf having a pair of legs pivoted thereto for folding may be mounted on the bottom panel.

  • Patent number: 4091933
Abstract: A hanging file support frame has a pair of channels each having a web portion and opposed hook portions for supporting file folders and has a pair of transverse members. Four corner fittings each have a substantially horizontal opening receiving one end of a transverse member. Each corner fitting also has a bead engaged by one of the hook portions of a channel and an integral resilient latch engaged by the other hook portion of said channel for releasably locking the channels to the fittings. Each corner fitting is supported by a leg. Advantageously, the channels have a plurality of lines of weakness and the corner fittings have opposed grooves for the reception of the hook portions of a channel to support a portion of the channel to be broken off at a line of weakness to adjust the length of the channel.

  • Patent number: 4077288
Abstract: A multiple paper punch has a base. A substantially vertical stripper plate is mounted on the base and has a plurality of openings for punch pins. A punch pin is mounted in each opening with each punch pin having a cam follower head. A substantially vertical die plate is mounted on the base adjacent the stripper plate and has openings in line with the openings in the stripper plate. The stripper plate and the die plate form a guide for the vertical entry of a sheet to be punched. An operating bar is mounted on a substantially horizontal pivot and has a depending cam portion adapted to engage the head of each punch pin. The punch pins and operating bar are biased to the inactive position by resilient means.

  • Patent number: 4030610
Abstract: A hanging file frame comprises a pair of elongate support rails adapted for hanging suspension file folders therefrom, a pair of transverse interconnecting members, four support legs and four resilient corner fittings for easily joining the rails, interconnecting members and legs into a rigid, parallelepiped file supporting structure wherein the support rails are maintained in mutually spaced, parallel and elevated relationship. The corner fittings, constructed of a strong plastic such as nylon or Delrin, may be molded or extruded. The transverse interconnecting members and the legs are formed of elongate cylindrical rods, end portions of which have radial projections for releasably retaining the members and legs in recesses formed in the corner fittings. The support rails are constructed of metal bars having a rectangular cross section.

  • Patent number: 3973604
Abstract: A pencil sharpener has a housing, a single cutter mounted for rotation in the housing, and a fixed pencil guide mounted in the housing and having an opening facing the cutter to expose the end of a pencil to the cutter. A rotatably mounted tube coaxial with the pencil guide extends through the housing and has a gear secured to its outer periphery within the housing. Means simultaneously rotate the cutter and gear. A sleeve mounted on the tube exterior of the housing carries a pair of opposed arms pivotally mounted each of which has a finger to engage a pencil, the tube having a slot to accommodate each finger. A spring interposed between the tube and the sleeve urges the sleeve and the arms in a direction to feed the pencil into the fixed pencil guide.
