Abstract: An illustrative embodiment of the present disclosure includes a computer-based method to enable users to comparatively monitor a fair value for a security. The method comprises the steps of: providing a computer configured to receive a data file of securities information wherein computer performs the steps of: uploading a data file of securities information; merging the data with corresponding data provided by other contributors relevant to the security; analyzing the merged data to create key performance indicators; creating a data table of securities from the data files uploaded to the computer; filtering out identities of names of contributors to keep source of securities pricing information anonymous; calculating percentage of contributors who have selected SFAS 157 Levels other than the SFAS 157 Level disclosed in the upload; selectively creating a report; and comparing user price paid to other valuations to gauge whether the particular valuation is a fair value.
