Abstract: A reclining chair has a seat structure for supporting a an occupant, a free-standing support assembly for supporting the seat structure, a guided rail system connected to the seat structure and support assembly for allowing an occupant to recline in the seat structure in various positions, and a brake assembly for inhibiting movement of the seat structure. The seat structure includes a frame contoured to comfortably support the occupant. The support assembly includes first and second side members. The guide rail system includes a pair of semi-circular tubular rail members, one rail member connected to opposite sides of the frame, and one or more guide elements mounted to the side members. The frame rotates as the rail members slide through the rail guide brackets, thereby reclining the chair.

Abstract: A hand-held massager includes an elongated handle, a contoured first massaging member or massaging head resiliently coupled to the handle, and at least one other massaging member or node mounted on the massaging head for providing an intense localized massage. The hand-held massager further includes a plurality of vibration inducing elements. A first vibration inducing element includes a main motor housed substantially within the handle is linked to a drive shaft extending from the motor into the massaging head. A massaging head eccentric cam is connected to the drive shaft within the massaging head for generally vibrating the massaging head and node relative to the handle upon rotation of the drive shaft. A second vibration inducing element includes a second motor or submotor linked to an output shaft. A second eccentric cam located substantially within the node extends from the output shaft for primarily vibrating the node upon rotation of the drive shaft.

Abstract: A resilient covering panel is adapted to be placed upon the back of a user's hand. The forward portion of the covering member is divided into a pair of extensions, one being adapted to be placed adjacent the top of the user's middle finger, the second being adapted to be placed adjacent the top of the user's thumb. The rearward portion of the covering panel is integral with straps to be secured about the user's wrist. First and second direct current, vibrating motors are mounted within respective motor housings and are disposed through and coupled to the middle finger and thumb extensions. Securing members are affixed to the lower surfaces of each of the motor housings into which the user's middle finger and thumb may be inserted to secure the extensions in place. A pair of vibration controllers are mounted within a controller enclosure adjacent the base of the user's fingers.

Abstract: An improved vibrating massage apparatus in the form of an elongated pad incorporating a plurality of independently controllable vibrating members to impose vibratory oscillations along the full extent of the apparatus. Each vibrating member includes a motor having a pair of rotatable shafts extending outward therefrom in axial opposition to one other, a fixed eccentric weight being secured at the end of each shaft. Each vibrating motor is secured within a housing, the outer surface thereof extending outwardly into a planar flange. The planar flanges of the motor housings are imbedded within a unitary foam member which substantially defines the shape of the pad. An electrical switching circuit sequentially activates and deactivates each of the vibrating motors in a predetermined manner.
