Abstract: A hydroelectrically-charged agricultural irrigation prime mover includes: a carriage; a plurality of wheels coupled to the carriage; a fluid supply pipe configured to receive a pressurized fluid; an electric drive system; and a hydroelectric charging system. The electric drive system includes: a battery pack; and a motor electrically connected to the battery pack and configured to rotate at least some of the wheels. The hydroelectric charging system includes: a turbine fluidly connected to the fluid supply pipe to receive at least some of the pressurized fluid; and a hydroelectric generator connected to the turbine and configured to charge the battery pack.
