Abstract: A system and method for document management for processing forms on a personal computer while isolated from a network. The forms may be Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) forms stored on a personal computer isolated from a network. The forms have data fields for data submission. Data is input into a selected form and a submit command is executed to submit the entered data. Execution of the submit command stores the data to a file on the personal computer. Once the personal computer is connected to the network, the stored data is sent to a central computer connected to the network.

Abstract: Systems and methods for retrieving documents stored in a document management system based upon data from an application. While an interface is displayed, associations are created between one or more fields on the application's interface and one or more retrieval-related attributes of the document management system. Data that is subsequently provided for the fields is used to retrieve documents from the document management system based the created associations. The data obtained is used for such other operations as generating bar codes and generating indexes for documents to be stored in a document management system.

Abstract: The invention includes generating a start scan signal at a user interface of a client device, transmitting the start scan signal from the client device to a scanner, receiving the start scan signal at the scanner, and scanning a document with the scanner to generate document data, in response to the start scan signal. The user interface can include a web browser and the start scan signal can be generated by activation of a control element defined in a hypertext mark-up language (HTML) document displayed on the web browser. The method can also include transmitting the document data from the scanner to the client device, receiving the document data at the client device, and generating a display including the scanned document on the user interface of the client device, based on the document data. The display can be generated from a hypertext mark-up language (HTML) document.

Abstract: Systems and methods to receive HL7 electronic medical data and to create an electronic indexing medical record based upon the received HL7 electronic medical data. The indexing medical record is provided to a document management system, wherein the document management system is configured to use the provided indexing medical record to index a medically-related document.
