Abstract: Methods for capturing medical images associated with a patient using a mobile image-capturing device are disclosed. One example method includes accessing patient identifying information through an electronic health record (EHR) application installed in the mobile image-capturing device. A user may launch a scan application installed in the mobile image-capturing device from the EHR application and upon launching of the scan application, the scan application may be provided with the patient identifying information from the EHR application. The scan application may capture medical images using an imaging equipment of the mobile image-capturing device, associate the captured images with the patient identifying information, and transmit the captured images with the patient identifying information to a storage location.

Abstract: Methods for loading a module on a plurality of device types without modification includes initializing an application native to the client device, the application including a web browser; determining a module to be loaded on the application, the module written in a web-based format and having a set of dependencies indicated within a code thereof; and loading the determined module on the web browser for recognition by the application native to the client device. The loading the determined module on the web browser includes loading the set of dependencies of the module.

Abstract: A method for organizing and searching objects from a plurality of databases includes querying an attribute of each entry stored in the plurality of databases; assigning a memory value for each of the attributes retrieved from each of the objects stored in the plurality of databases and storing the memory values for each of the attributes in a cache. At a client device, a search query is received and it is determined if the search query contains an attribute of the entry to be searched. Upon positive determination, a search is performed at the cache using the attribute contained in the search query; and upon negative determination, a search for the entry is performed at the plurality of databases.

Abstract: Methods for associating medical images to a patient using a mobile image-capturing device and transmitting the medical images to a storage location are disclosed. One example method includes accessing by a user identifying information associated with a patient through an electronic health record (EHR) application installed in the mobile device, launching a second application on the mobile device from the EHR application, and upon the launching of the application from the EHR application, transmitting the patient identifying information accessed by the user from the EHR application to the second application. The second application may then retrieve one or more medical images stored in the mobile device, associate the one or more retrieved medical images with the patient using the identifying information, and transmit the one or more retrieved medical images with the associated patient identifying information from the mobile device to a storage location.

Abstract: A method of dynamically converting a document from a non-DICOM format to a DICOM format includes receiving a query for use in searching for the document from one or more repositories, searching the one or more repositories for the document that matches the query, receiving from the one or more repositories one or more document results of the searching, receiving from a user a request for retrieval of at least one document from the one or more document results of the searching, determining if the at least one document requested for retrieval is in the non-DICOM format, upon positive determination, converting the at least one document requested for retrieval from the non-DICOM to the DICOM format, and sending the at least one converted document to the user.

Abstract: A hierarchical dictionary having methods of storing words based on frequency thereof in one or more documents which includes the steps of identifying a hash value corresponding to an inputted word; storing the word in a first hash map and in a second hash map having a substantially larger word storage capacity than the first hash map based on the identified hash value; clearing the first hash map at every predetermined period or triggering event; determining whether a frequency of the word as stored in the second hash map exceeds a predetermined value; and if so, promoting the word from the second hash map to a third hash map having a substantially larger word storage capacity than the second hash map for long-term storage and later retrieval.

Abstract: A method of retrieving data from a Health Level 7 (HL7) clinical data from one or more modalities for transferring to a dictation system is disclosed. The method includes receiving HL7 clinical data having one or more multi-segment fields from a modality that generates the HL7 clinical data; accessing a formatting template for use in normalizing the parsed HL7 clinical data, the formatting template including a retrieval setting that specifies a type of the one or more multi-segment fields from which to retrieve the one or more values; retrieving the values from the fields of the one or more multi-segment fields based on the retrieval setting as specified in the formatting template; normalizing the retrieved values using format settings set in the formatting template; and sending the normalized values to the dictation system for use in generating a report by the dictation system.

Abstract: A system and method of transferring data generated at a data source to a dictation system for use by the dictation system to generate reports are disclosed. One example method includes parsing the data to retrieve values from the data that match a field in a formatting template. The matching values are then normalized based on format settings configured in the formatting template. A range of values may be added to one or more fields in the formatting template. For values that match the fields associated with the range of values, it is determined if the values fall outside the range of values. Upon positive determination, the values may be further formatted by adding an indicator marking that the values are out of bounds from the range of values. The formatted values are then sent to the dictation system for use by the dictation system in generating reports.

Abstract: A system and methods for sharing data among multiple standalone applications include: receiving, by a framework executing on a computing device, at least one keyword based upon a user input on a display of one of a plurality of standalone applications loaded via the framework; and storing the at least one in a context object, wherein the context object is accessible by each of the plurality of standalone applications for sharing the at least one keyword. One or more operations may be further performed based on the shared context object and results including content related or matching with the context object may be gathered from multiple standalone applications loaded in the framework.

Abstract: A method for monitoring content from a plurality of data sources includes performing an initial search for the content by receiving a keyword to be used in searching for the content from the data sources, searching the plurality of data source for the content associated with the keywords, preventing an action to be performed on the one or more relevant content identified to be associated with the keyword, and notifying one or more users regarding the relevant content that is be associated with the keywords. After performing the initial search for the content, the method may continuously monitor the plurality of data sources to determine if the data sources generate new content that is associated with the keywords and preventing an action to be performed on the new content determined to be associated with the keyword.

Abstract: A system and methods for backing up and restoring updates to metadata of files stored in a database are disclosed. One example embodiment of the method includes entering the updates to the metadata of the one or more files into a first database table; generating a backup file of the first database table; and restoring the updates to the metadata to the one or more files using the backup file. Restoring the updates may include creating a recovery table populated with data from the backup file; determining the one or more files to apply the updates to by searching the recovery table for an identifier of the one or more files; and adding the updates to the metadata from the recovery table to the corresponding one or more files that matches the identifier identified from the recovery table.

Abstract: A system and method for sharing resources among application modules includes receiving, on an application including a plurality of modules, a resource from a server; determining a storage position identifier corresponding to an identifier of the resource and indicative of a storage position in a database for storing resources dedicated for the application; and storing the resource in the database based on the determined identifier for sharing among the plurality of modules.

Abstract: A method for facilitating communication among web connections connecting to a web application is disclosed. The method includes receiving an indication that a web connection to a web application is established, determining if the web connection is a potential host or a potential client connection. The method includes creating a connection group having members that include at least one of the host and the client connection; allowing the members of the connection group to communicate with each other by receiving a request from at least one of the host and the client connection for a message to be communicated to the members of the connection group; and sending the message received from the at least one of the host and the client connection to the members of the connection group.

Abstract: A method for segmenting a vessel from an image data that includes accessing the image data from which the vessel is segmented through a user display interface. A first seed point is then received from a user, the first seed point placed by the user on a first location on the image data. A second seed point is further received from the user, the second seed point placed by the user on a second location on the image data.

Abstract: A system and methods for transferring data generated at one or more data sources to a dictation system are disclosed. In one example embodiment of the method, clinical data may be received from a sending application associated with the one or more data sources. A job may be generated for each of the received clinical data. The method further includes parsing the clinical data to retrieve one or more values that matches a corresponding field in a formatting template. The retrieved values may be normalized based on format settings in the formatting template, and the normalized values may be sent to the dictation system. If the normalized values are successfully sent to the dictation system, the job associated with the normalized values may be marked completed. Otherwise, the job will be marked as failed and a user may be allowed to re-send the normalized values to the dictation system.
