Abstract: An apparatus for transporting objects includes a guide arrangement for supporting and guiding along a movement path at least one carriage supporting a support element suitable for receiving at least one object. A movement arrangement moves the carriage along the movement path. The carriage is provided with rolling elements and the guide arrangement includes at least three guides that are parallel to one another, each of which is arranged for supporting and guiding a respective rolling element in an operative configuration of the carriage. The guides define respective movement profiles conjugated and shaped so that each rolling element abuts on the respective guide at each point of the latter along the movement path. The rolling elements are arranged at the vertices of a triangle with respect to a plane that is parallel to the guides.

Abstract: A packet is received at a network device, the packet having a header that includes destination information for a first network in a first header portion, and destination information for a second network in a second header portion. The packet is processed, in a first pass, to make a first forwarding decision to forward the packet to a destination in the first network based on information contained in the first header portion. The packet is replicated and the packet, or the replicated packet, is returned for processing in a second pass. The packet, or the replicated packet, is processed in the second pass to make a second forwarding decision to forward at least a portion of the packet or the replicated packet to a destination in the second network based on information contained in the second header portion without relying on information contained in the first header portion.
Abstract: A method that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining at a first directory server of a first regional call processing system whether a new name authority pointer associated with a telephone number is within a first geographic region of the first regional call processing system, transmitting the new name authority pointer to a first name server of the first regional call processing system for provisioning the name authority pointer to the first name server responsive to determining that the telephone number is located within the first geographic region, and transmitting the new name authority pointer to a second directory server for provisioning the new name authority pointer to a second name server of a second regional call processing system responsive to determining that the telephone number is not located within the first geographic region. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, from a set-top box device, an e-mail notification request including a set-top box identifier associated with the set-top box device and linked to an internet protocol television account identifier. The method includes accessing stored information that includes a plurality of set-top box identifiers and that links respective set-top box identifiers with corresponding e-mail accounts. The method further includes determining, based on the stored information and the set-top box identifier, an e-mail account of a first user maintained at a mail server, where the determination includes associating the internet protocol television account identifier with the e-mail account. The method further includes determining whether an e-mail has been received for the e-mail account at the mail server.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and products simulate a topology of a residential home network. The residential home network has a residential gateway and one or more devices communicating with the residential gateway. Each device is queried by the residential gateway for configuration and performance data. A simulated view of a topology of the residential home network is then generated.
Abstract: An ampoule opener has an opening unit and a cover unit. The opening unit is a rigid frame and has two panels, two head-clamping holes and two pairs of wave-shaped flanges. The panels are respectively an upper panel and a lower panel. The head-clamping holes are elongated in length and tapered in width and are respectively formed through the panels. The pairs of wave-shaped flanges are formed between the panels and the head-clamping holes. The cover unit is flexible, is detachably mounted around the opening unit and has two covering boards, a mounting recess, two body-clamping holes and two pairs of wave-shaped edges. The body-clamping holes are elongated in length and tapered in width and are respectively formed through the mounting boards and communicate with the mounting recess. The pairs of wave-shaped edges are formed between the mounting boards and the body-clamping holes.
Abstract: A particular method includes detecting a channel change request at a set-top box. The channel change request specifies a requested channel that is associated with a plurality of multimedia streams, where each multimedia stream has a corresponding content format. A particular multimedia stream is selected based on an available bandwidth of a service to a premises of the set-top box. Alternately, or in addition, the particular multimedia stream may be selected based on an output setting of the set-top box, scheduled recordings at a digital video recorder associated with the set-top box, available storage space at the digital video recorder, and other factors. In one example, the method may implement channel proxy functionality, reducing redundancy and complexity at an electronic program guide and simplifying a channel selection process for a user.
Abstract: An apparatus, device, methods, computer program product, and system are described that provide a graphical illustration of a first possible outcome of a use of a treatment parameter with respect to at least one body portion, based on a first dataset associated with a first predictive basis, and that modify the graphical illustration to illustrate a second possible outcome of the use of the treatment parameter, based on a second dataset associated with a second predictive basis.

Abstract: A communication network is operated by determining whether a network element can be trusted and monitoring traffic associated with the network element based on whether the network element can be trusted. At least some of the monitored traffic may be selected for examination based on the degree of trust for the network element. At least some of the monitored and/or examined traffic is selected to be blocked based on the degree of trust for the network element.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods and/or computer program products are provided that facilitate entering secure passwords into a user device. A user requested image is displayed via a display or monitor of a user device. The image is zoomable to one or more higher resolution levels beyond an initial display resolution, and the image is displayed at higher resolution levels in response to a user activating a zoom function via the user device. The coordinates of a user selected feature within a displayed higher resolution level image are obtained and translated into a password. The password is then entered into the requesting application.

Abstract: Devices and methods are disclosed which relate to an electronic device having a human stimulus receptor which, when activated, suspends activation of a screensaver. The screensaver is activated to conserve the power and life of the electronic device. When latently viewing the electronic device, however, the human stimulus receptor is activated. A countdown starts counting down a pre-determined amount of time once the human stimulus receptor is inactive. At the expiration of the countdown, the screensaver is activated. The human stimulus receptor responds to skin conductivity, natural muscular twitch, pulse, skin temperature, and/or eye movement. Only when the electronic device no longer detects any of these human stimuli will the countdown begin. A user may set the predetermined amount of time.

Abstract: Network performance management includes identifying a location of a test unit, providing a test protocol to the test unit over a network, and transmitting a stream of data packets to the test unit. The network performance management also includes identifying, via the location of the test unit, a transmission path of network elements through which the stream of packets flows. The network performance management further includes tracking measurements associated with the stream of data packets transmitted to the test unit and return data packets received from the test unit. The measurements are tracked for segments associated with each of the network elements in the transmission path.

Abstract: A method and system for managing messages in a unified messaging (UM) platform to enable message recall is disclosed. The UM platform deposits a message from a sender into a UM mailbox of a recipient. It is then determined whether the sender of the message is a UM subscriber. If the sender is a UM subscriber, a copy of the message or a link to the message is deposited into a UM mailbox of the sender. The UM platform then provides a message recall option with the copy of the message or the link to the message in the UM mailbox of the sender. If the sender is not a UM subscriber, a recall message including a randomly generated message recall URL is sent to the sender. This allows the sender to select the randomly generated message recall URL to send a message recall request to the UM platform.

Abstract: An antagonist of the interaction between the Gp96 receptor and E. coli AIEC strains, for the prevention or treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. The antagonist is for specifically blocking or reducing the interaction between Gp96 receptor and the outer membrane vesicles (OMVs), typically the outer protein membrane OmpA of E. coli AIEC strains. The inventions provides for pharmaceutical compositions containing such an antagonist, which may be an antibody against gp96 or OmpA, or a gp96 or OmpA polypeptide. It may be combined to an antagonist of the interaction between the CEACAM6 receptor and E. coli AIEC strains, such as an anti-CEACAM6 antibody, a CEACAM6 polypeptide, or a mannoside or particle having a mannose unit. The invention also relates to a method for the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease, or of the determination of a predisposition of a person to develop inflammatory bowel disease.
