Abstract: Hydroxyl polyester compounds or compositions which are useful as oilfield demulsifiers are prepared through esterifying carboxylic compounds and epoxide compounds under controlled molar ratios. The hydroxyl polyesters are useful as biodegradable demulsifiers on oil productions.
Abstract: A multicolor hologram (e.g., a two-color hologram) is replicated (copied) into a photosensitive layer by masking to produce a copy (replicate) of the hologram in a manner such that the copy is an accurate and true replication of the hologram (e.g., master hologram), and the copy is characterized to possess a high brightness level and color fidelity comparable to that of the multicolor hologram that was replicated. Both flood and scan modes can be employed in the replication.
Abstract: Traffic disturbances are detected and data is collected by various sensors where the data reflects the entity that is responsible for the disturbance and the number of vehicles that are impacted by the disturbance. The data is analyzed to determine whether a traffic violation has occurred and to then assess a fine based at least on the number of vehicles that have been impacted as a result of the traffic violation. The fine may then be collected by notifying the entity that is responsible, such as by sending a message to an electronic device of the entity. The notification may provide for an automated payment of the fine or an option to appeal the fine. Additionally, those affected by the traffic disturbance may be identified and granted a portion of the fine that has been imposed and collected.
Abstract: A non-GPS capable stationary device and method thereof is presented that permits the stationary device to receive location and time information from a mobile, GPS capable device using a non-GPS wireless protocol. This permits the stationary device to make use of the location information in combination with other information from the stationary device, communicated from the mobile device and/or communicated from other devices in a network of devices connected to the stationary device, to customize features of the stationary device accordingly. The stationary device is activated through an external trigger or automatically through an internal trigger.

Abstract: An electronic device can include an organic diode and a shunt that allows a significant current to bypass the organic diode, wherein the shunt is separate from the organic diode. Alternatively, an electronic device can include an organic diode lying along a first conduction path. The electronic device can also include a resistive member lying along a second conduction path that is parallel to the first conduction path. In another aspect, a process of forming an electronic device can include forming a first conductive member, forming a resistive member over the first conductive member, and forming an organic semiconductor layer over the first conductive member. The process can also include forming a second conductive member over the resistive member and the organic semiconductor layer, such that the resistive member and the organic semiconductor layer lie along parallel conduction paths between the first and second conductive members.

Abstract: The invention relates to the use of an antibody or a fragment thereof, specific against substance P, for the manufacture of a medicament for therapeutic treatment of a cancer expressing NK1 receptor and/or a ErbB receptor family member (i.e. the epidermal growth factor receptors family), by direct administration to a mammal, including a human. The administration of an antibody against substance P to a panel of breast cancer cell lines, inhibits HER2 activation and expression, causing a downregulation of different genes involved in cell cycle progression, like cyclin D1, cyclin E, cdk4 and cdk2. A decrease in proliferation and an arrest in G1 phase of cell cycle are observed. On the other hand, the antibody causes an induction of apoptosis.

The fluid sensing station comprises a sensing fluid cavity comprising a light emitter and a light receiver placed at a distance from each other and optically connected to each other.
Abstract: A device for storing projectile balls and feeding the balls into a projectile chamber of a gun is provided. A ball container includes a feeder positioned within the ball container for feeding balls into a feeder tube. A motor is configured to supply drive energy to the feeder. Operation of the motor is controlled as a function of the movement of the balls in the feeder tube. A spring element having a storage capacity is configured to store at least some drive energy of the motor. A slip clutch is configured to dissipate drive energy of the motor that exceeds the storage capacity of the spring element.
Abstract: In one embodiment a method for creating a molded-in-color vehicle panel is provided. The mold may have at least first and second mold members, each having a forming surface for forming a portion of the vehicle panel. One mold member may translate relative to the other to collectively receive a heated resin with a molded-in-color to form the vehicle panel. The resin may be formed into a solid molded-in-color interior vehicle panel. After allowing the resin to partially cool, an aperture may be formed by punching through in the molded-in-color resin with a punch.
