Abstract: A systems and methods for video transmission scheduling are provided. A method of video transmission scheduling may include selecting a first video transmission event associated with first content to be blacked out based on a first geographic access restriction. The method may also include selecting a second video transmission event associated with second content to be blacked out based on a second geographic access restriction. The method may further include linking the first video transmission event to the second transmission event to control a blackout of the second content based at least partially on a trigger related to the first content.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for learning latent representations for natural language tasks. A system configured to practice the method analyzes, for a first natural language processing task, a first natural language corpus to generate a latent representation for words in the first corpus. Then the system analyzes, for a second natural language processing task, a second natural language corpus having a target word, and predicts a label for the target word based on the latent representation. In one variation, the target word is one or more word such as a rare word and/or a word not encountered in the first natural language corpus. The system can optionally assigning the label to the target word. The system can operate according to a connectionist model that includes a learnable linear mapping that maps each word in the first corpus to a low dimensional latent space.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for detecting and measuring network route reconvergence using in-band data probes. The probes are generated and inserted into the network. The probes are routed to an insertion point, corresponding to a beginning of a measurement line, via an in-band connection such as a virtual private network. The in-band connection is configured such that the time-to-live field of the probes is not affected by network path changes occurring in the in-band connection. The probes are routed through the measurement line to measure network route reconvergence. The measurement line is configured to affect the time-to-live field of the probes to reflect network path changes occurring along the measurement line. The probes are extracted from an extraction point corresponding to an end of the measurement line and routed back to the measurement device for analysis.

In one embodiment, ordering a content item that is deliverable via a television service can include sending an offer message to a mobile device, the offer message including an offer of a content item that is deliverable via a television service. Abstract: Methods and apparatus for handling a communication session for an unregistered Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) device are disclosed. An example method includes, in response to receiving an internet protocol multimedia subsystem session initiation message from a user endpoint, determining whether the user endpoint is registered; and, when the user endpoint is determined to be unregistered: determining whether the internet protocol multimedia subsystem session initiation message is directed to an exception endpoint by performing a lookup on a list; determining whether a profile for the unregistered user endpoint is available; when the profile for the user endpoint determined to be unregistered is unavailable, loading a default profile; and establishing an internet protocol multimedia subsystem session on behalf of the user endpoint determined to be unregistered when the internet protocol multimedia subsystem session initiation message is directed to the exception endpoint.

Media content is compared to a user profile and an identification confidence level is assigned to the media based on the comparison. A digital agent contacts a host of the media based on the identification confidence level, the type of media, and the context of the media. The digital agent requests one or more actions of a media host based on user designations concerning information related to the media. The identification confidence level is generated based on a plurality of user characteristic confidence levels which are generated based on media being analyzed.

Abstract: A method includes receiving information identifying at least one recommended media content item at a computing device. The information is received from a sender device. The at least one recommended media content item is selected from an electronic program guide and an address associated with the computing device is selected via a graphical user interface at the sender device. Abstract: A disclosed remote control, suitable for use with a set top box or other form of multimedia handling device, includes a processor, a user input device, and a display. The user input device and the display are communicatively coupled to the processor. A communication adapter is configured to place the processor in bi-directional communication with the multimedia handling device. The remote control further includes a storage medium that may include a unique identifier of the user and a user profile indicative of the user's channel preferences and viewing permissions. The storage medium may further include software instructions to synchronize the user profile with a corresponding user profile on the multimedia handling device, receive input from the user via the user input device, the input including commands from the user to manipulate the multimedia handling device, and display output on the display screen in response to the user's commands.
