  • Patent number: 8731112
Abstract: In a tone signal circuit and a wireless receiver of the present invention, a digital signal in a frequency band including at least a tone signal component is input into a Goertzel filter. Further, an envelope of an output from the Goertzel filter is detected, and a derivative value of the envelope is derived. Then, if the derivative value is maintained to be equal to or greater than a first threshold value, it is determined that a first prerequisite for existence of the tone signal component is satisfied. The above tone signal circuit and the wireless receiver can perform highly-accurate tone detection in a small calculation amount.

  • Patent number: 8644780
Abstract: The present invention provides a gain control circuit for an FM receiver that can reduce a reproduced audio output according to the magnitude of the noise component of an intended signal included in a received signal. The gain control circuit of the present invention is constituted by a noise level measurement circuit 26 and a preamplifier 25. The noise level measurement circuit 26 measures a noise level in an audio signal Sa1 output from an FM detector 4 and outputs a control signal Sc corresponding to the noise level. The preamplifier 25 reduces an output according a value of the control signal Sc. With the gain control circuit of the present invention, the volume of the speaker is reduced as the noise component in the audio signal Sa1 increases due to a decrease in received electric field strength, and therefore discomfort caused by unpleasant noise can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20130279625
Abstract: The modulator creates modulated signals from input signals. The series/parallel converter creates subcarrier modulated signals from the remaining data and modulated signals. The arithmetic operator arranges and combines a first number of elements of the subcarrier modulated signals from the first one and a second number of elements of a data series from the first one each multiplied by a given amplitude coefficient to create arithmetic operation data. The IFFT executor executes the inverse fast Fourier transformation of the arithmetic operation data. The combiner creates baseband signals from the arithmetic operation results. The determiner calculates the peal-to-average power ratio of the baseband signals. The processing of the arithmetic operator to the determiner is repeated while changing at least one of given numbers until the baseband signals complying with a given criterion are detected.

  • Patent number: 8554160
Abstract: An AM (Amplitude-Modulated) transmitter capable of improving modulation distortion is provided. An adder adds a modulation signal to a pre-set power reference signal. An APC (Automatic Power Control) amplifier compares a level of a detecting signal outputted by the LPF (Low Pass Filter) with a level of an adder signal. The APC amplifier, based on the comparison result, generates a gain controlling signal that makes a difference between a level of the detecting signal and level of the signal approach zero and feeds the gain controlling signal to a power amplifier. The power amplifier modulates the signal outputted from the amplifier by the gain controlling signal and power-amplifies the modulated signal according to a level of the gain controlling signal. Since the APC amplifier feeds the gain controlling signal to the power amplifier, a modulation degree does not depend on a nonlinear distortion characteristic of the power amplifier.
