Abstract: An icon added to a message of a sender provides a tool for recipients of the message to determine commonalities with the sender. The recipient activates the icon to initiate retrieval of social networking information from social networking network locations of the recipient to the recipient's computer. The recipient's social networking information is then forwarded to a commonality engine that compares the recipient's social networking information with social networking information of the sender to provide the recipient with commonalities between the recipient and the sender.
