Patent number: 10747971Abstract: A method for identification (ID) verification using a device with embedded radio-frequency identification (RFID) functionality is disclosed. The method comprises capturing, by a camera associated with a client device, an image of an ID document having an embedded RFID chip. The image is transmitted to a server for optical character recognition to extract and recognize printed data associated with the ID document. The client device can receive the printed data from the server and use the printed data to unlock the RFID chip by an RFID reader. Digital data associated with the ID document can be retrieved from the RFID chip and compared to the printed data. If the digital data and the printed data match, the ID document is verified. Otherwise, the ID document is rejected.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2019Date of Patent: August 18, 2020Assignee: IDchecker, Inc.Inventor: Michael Hagen

Patent number: 9740926Abstract: A method for identity verification using biometric data is disclosed herein. The method comprises receiving, by a processor, an image of an identification document and receiving a video associated with a face of a user. A predefined number of frames is selected in the video. Based on the selection, it is determined whether the video depicts a live person. Additionally, the face of the user in the video is compared with the image of the identification document and, based on the comparing, results of the identity verification are provided.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2016Date of Patent: August 22, 2017Assignee: IDchecker, Inc.Inventors: Michael Hagen, Pierre de Boer, Istvan Mandak

Patent number: 9373030Abstract: A method for automated document recognition, identification, and data extraction is described herein. The method comprises receiving, by the processor, an image of a document associated with a user. The image is analyzed using optical character recognition to obtain image data, wherein the image data includes text zones. Based on the image data, the image is compared to one or more document templates. Based on the comparison, a document template having the highest degree of coincidence with the image is determined. The text zones of the image are associated with text zones of the document template to determine a type of data in each text zone. The data is structured into a standard format to obtain structured data.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2015Date of Patent: June 21, 2016Assignee: IDchecker, Inc.Inventors: Jorgen van Deventer, Michael Hagen, Istvan Mandak
