  • Patent number: 11949197
Abstract: A method for joining two workpiece parts during a manufacturing process includes forming a first workpiece part having a first mating surface and forming a second workpiece part having a second mating surface. The first and second workpiece part may be separately distributed or may be joined for distribution. To join the parts, an energy director is formed in the first mating surface by an automated process, the energy director comprising an end portion projecting from the first mating surface such that the projecting end portion of the energy director engages the second mating surface when the first and second workpiece parts are brought into engagement with each other. In one example, the first and second workpiece parts are ultrasonically welded by pressing the parts together while vibrating at least one of the first workpiece part or the second workpiece part.

  • Patent number: 11879590
Abstract: A lubricating system has a pump to force a viscous lubricant from a supply of lubricant to a lubricator at which the lubricant is to be dispensed onto a cable, wire, or the like that is being pulled through a conduit. A sensor, associated with a spool from which the cable is being dispensed, is be used to automatically control the amount of lubricant that is to be dispensed onto the cable. A second described system comprises a custom bucket or bucket insert which allow a cable to pass through the bucket whereupon lubricant will be automatically applied to the cable and the container includes a profiled base to ensure proper passage of the cable through the lubricant and ensure the maximum usage of any lubricant.

  • Patent number: 11695224
Abstract: A lever connector for contacting electrical conductors includes features and improvements over other lever connectors. The lever connector includes a housing, a busbar located within the housing, one or more lever mechanisms, and one or more resilient members that connect the lever mechanisms to the busbar. The lever mechanism includes a lever located on a near side of the busbar bridge and a lifting mechanism located on a far side of the busbar bridge opposite the near side of the busbar bridge. When the lever is actuated and lifted upwards and away from the housing, the lifting mechanism moves the resilient member to release away from the busbar. When the lever is closed and pushed downward toward the housing, the lifting mechanism moves the resilient member downward to push the electrical conductor against the busbar, thereby making electrical contact between the electrical conductor and the busbar.

  • Patent number: 11539161
Abstract: A convertible force latching system includes two complementary connector bodies. Each connector body has a first mating face under which two series of magnets oriented alternating directions. A moving portion of the latching system allows the connector bodies and the magnets within to alter their alignment by the interaction of a user along a predetermined motion path. In a first arrangement, the series of magnets are aligned with such that the magnets of one connector body are attracted to the magnets of the other connector body. When the user actuation shifts the moving portion, the second arrangement positions the series of magnets such that they are aligned such that the magnets of one connector body are repelled to the magnets of the other connector body.

  • Patent number: 11434894
Abstract: An air sampling pump includes a reciprocating piston for operating a diaphragm assembly. The diaphragm includes a valve head including a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet and a fluid chamber defining a fluid path between the inlet and outlet. A diaphragm sealing engages the valve head and encloses the fluid chamber. The diaphragm includes a piston diaphragm membrane portion coupled to the piston for reciprocating with the piston and reciprocation of the piston causes a change in air pressure within the fluid chamber to cause air to move from the fluid inlet toward the fluid outlet. The diaphragm includes a damper membrane portion, which cooperate to reduce an amplitude of pulsation in the airflow at the fluid inlet and fluid outlet.

  • Patent number: 10923868
Abstract: The low voltage power distribution bus system for a plurality of connected modules includes an intelligently managed power load. The system maintains a marginal reserve of power while monitoring the amount used of the total power. When a new module is connected, a base power setting for the new module is retrieved. The system calculates available power and compares the base power setting. If the available power is exceeded, the system redistributes a maximum allowed power of each connected module and assigns the new module an allowed maximum power. The allowed maximum power is the base power setting if the available power exceeds the base power setting of the new module and a fraction of the base power setting if the base power setting of the new module exceeds the available power.

  • Patent number: 10924453
Abstract: A method for automatically assigning a group address to a first controllable luminaire device of a plurality of controllable luminaire devices. The method determines whether adding the first controllable luminaire device to a logical community of controllable luminaire devices causes a number of controllable luminaire devices within the logical community of luminaire devices to exceed an established threshold. When it is determined that adding the first controllable luminaire device to the logical community of luminaire devices causes the number of controllable luminaire devices within the logical community of luminaire devices to exceed the established threshold, the method automatically assigns to each of the plurality of luminaire devices within the logical community of luminaire devices a group address for use in simultaneously controlling the luminaire devices as a group.

  • Patent number: 10870196
Abstract: A tool has a working member, a plurality of expansion members, and a handle that is rotatable relative to the working member. The handle has a longitudinally extending chamber in which a portion of the working member having cam surfaces is disposed. The handle also has a plurality of slots in which the plurality of expansion members are disposed. When a torque is applied to the tool, the cam surfaces of the working member cooperate with the plurality of expansion members to cause at least a portion of each of the plurality of expansion members to be moved outwardly from the slots to thereby cause the handle to change from having a first cross-sectional shape to a second cross-sectional shape. At least one spring is interposed between each of the plurality of expansion members and the handle for causing the handle to revert back to the first cross-sectional shape upon a removal of the torque as applied to the tool.

  • Patent number: 10870188
Abstract: A device for driving a fastener has a shaft and a driving portion formed on an end of the shaft. The driving portion is provided with one of a slot and a channel for securely holding a force applying member formed from a resilient material. When a tip of the driving member is positioned within a tip receiving portion tip portion of the fastener, a surface of the force applying member which faces towards the head of the fastener will frictionally engage with the head portion of the fastener to prevent the driving portion from slipping from the fastener.
