Abstract: A video recording apparatus with a pre-event circulation recording function is provided. A limitation on memory capacity may be removed by recording a pre-event video directly on a nonvolatile storage medium, such as a hard disk drive (HDD), without using a buffer according to a circulation recording method during pre-event recording performed to record videos before and after an event occurs.

Abstract: A method of searching for a network device and registering the network device to a network using HTTP and a network registration service apparatus are provided. The method includes receiving, at a registration server, registration information from the network device; receiving, at the registration server, a registration request message from the client message through a HTTP protocol; creating, at the registration server, a web page containing both a list of network devices that are accessing the same network as the client device and access information allowing for access to the network devices; transmitting, at the registration server, the web page to the client device through a HTTP protocol; and in response to receiving an access request message from the client device, transmitting, at the network device, an initial setting page to the client device, whereby the client device registers the network device to the network.

Abstract: A system of a network video recorder (NVR) device for automatic connection to an IP camera is provided. The system is implemented to make it possible to automatically establish a connection between the NVR device and the IP camera while reducing a user's intervention, and thereby a user not having enough expertise knowledge of IP network settings may be able to avoid experiencing inconvenience in manual settings, and also it is possible to prevent errors which may occur in manually adjusting the network settings and to prevent unnecessary time wasted on the network setting management process.

Abstract: Provided is a camera pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) control technology in which a PTZ control signal input by a user is output as a graphic UI and the user inputs the PTZ control signal while directly monitoring the graphic UI. A camera PTZ control apparatus includes a UI visualization unit configured to generate a reference mark as a reference for operating the monitored area and generate a graphic output signal which represents a current position mark associated with a current position indicated by the operation unit; a PTZ processor configured to calculate and output a PTZ driving value of a shooting camera based on relative positions of the reference mark and the current position mark; and a camera driving unit configured to output a driving signal for driving a PTZ driving unit of the shooting camera through a communication unit according to the calculated PTZ driving value.

Abstract: A firmware update system includes video security equipment and an update server. When receiving an error report from the video security equipment, the update server assigns a unique code to the error, and provides patch data matched with the error code to the video security equipment, which has reported the error that corresponds to the error code, to update firmware based on the patch data, thereby minimizing a security gap during the firmware update of the video security equipment.

Abstract: Provided is a video management apparatus and a method for event recording using the same, which are capable of reducing loss of video data in an event recording. The video management apparatus performs an event recording in cooperation with a network camera to transmit a first frame with basic information of video data and a plurality of second frames with changed information of the video data. The video management apparatus includes a buffer unit to store the first and the plurality of second frames, and eliminate the stored frames according to an external control signal. The video management apparatus further includes an event recording unit to save the first frame and at least one of the second frames stored in the buffer unit, and when detecting an occurrence of events, and frames transmitted from the network camera after the detection of the occurrence of events on a storage medium.

Abstract: An encoding method of security images. Provided is a variable bit rate (VBR) control method for controlling a bit rate in encoding an image frame by accumulating at regular intervals the distribution, within the frame, of an amount of movements in foreground images subtracted from the image frame. When the amount of movements is accumulated, the image may be encoded in higher quality regarding to the recent movements by changing the weight value according to time.
