Abstract: A container for accommodating data storage media such as video cassettes is disclosed. The container has a slider member that carries the storage media and moves out of the housing. The slider member allows the cassette to be grasped freely after ejection of the slider member from the housing. One or more door elements connected to the housing are controlled by the movement of the slider member between open and closed positions. The media are protected by the door element(s) being closed when the slider member is inserted into the housing.

Abstract: Cassettes containing recording media, for example audio tape cassettes, are stored on a transport slider which, upon command, may be ejected from a housing to permit removal and use of the cassette. The slider has projections which prevent unwanted rotation of the winding hubs of a stored cassette, the projections being serially arranged along a line parallel to the direction of travel of the slider, and has a long stroke so that both projections are positioned outside of the housing when the slider is in the ejected position.

Abstract: Easily operable apparatus for storing and retrieving recording media, magnetic tape cassettes and compact discs for example, is characterized by a housing and at least first recording media carrier slidably supported therein for movement between a stored position and a recording medium removal position under the influence of an ejection spring. The storage apparatus is provided with a locking mechanism, for retaining the carrier in the stored position, which will not be unintentionally released in response to rapid acceleration or deceleration when the storage apparatus is mounted within a motor vehicle.

Abstract: A storage system for disc-shaped record media comprises a housing in which a plurality of disc holders are slidably mounted. A spring-biased slider member, that may be locked in the housing, is coupled to the holders and causes the holders to be conveyed staggered step-wise out of the housing in such a manner that the discs may be grasped at a segment that is exposed. The holders have a dished profile which supports the discs only in their edge region where there are no recording tracks.

Abstract: In a container for use in the storage of recording media, the container comprising a housing and at least one transport slider which receives the recording media and which is movable in the housing between an inserted and a recording media removal position, the transport slider is locked against the bias of an ejection spring by cooperating coupling and cam members. Unlocking is accomplished by moving the transport slider in the insertion direction from the locked position while locking is accomplished by moving the transport slider in the insertion direction until resistance to further insertion is encountered. The locking mechanism does not employ any spring elements which are in a stressed condition in either the locked or unlocked positions.

Abstract: A storage device for flat recording media, e.g., compact discs, is disclosed. The device comprises a housing and a slider member having a base portion and front wall that covers the open front face of the housing when the slider member is inserted. A lifting element, which is transported out of the housing by means of the slider member, is provided for supporting the recording media in a position for easy insertion and removal.

Abstract: A support arrangement for a plurality of tape cassette containers stacked to form a block, the block being held together by a sheath of foamed plastic material stretched thereabout and leaving accessible front faces of the containers where cassettes may be inserted or removed. The sheath has means to permit easy mounting of the entire block with its sheath in a releasable manner on a holder which, in turn, has means to fasten it at the wall of a vehicle, the holder being flexible or provided with pivots permitting positional adjustment of the block for convenient handling.

Abstract: A plurality of rectangular plates having stacking elements on their upper and lower surfaces, the stacking elements being complimentary to those on rectangular containers such that the plates can be connected between any two containers in a stack. The plates further have complimentary interconnecting elements on their lateral sides to allow locking together of adjacent stacks of containers into a complact block.

Abstract: A holder for a tape cassette including a flat, thin and elongate housing to contain a tape cassette, a locking facility in the housing for retaining the tape cassette in the housing, an ejector resiliently urging the tape cassette out of the housing in a pivotal or swinging motion on an axis parallel to the axes of the tape coils, the ejector using leaf or coil springs which bear against a subframe or cover for the housing or which bear directly against the cassette.

Abstract: A container for tape cassettes of the type which have broad flat surfaces adjoining a longitudinal edge through which the tape is exposed; and wherein the cassette has broad rib-like trapezoidal bosses on each of the broad flat surfaces of the cassette; a container for such cassettes with a slide to carry the cassette into and out of the housing, the bottom wall, whether it be on the housing or the slide, having an opening to receive the trapezoidal boss of the cassette; and the top wall may also have an opening to receive the adjacent trapezoidal boss of the cassette; the carrier slide having guiding means at its opposite sides to guide with the housing at a location outwardly beyond the ends of the bosses on the cassette.
