Abstract: A flushing device which permits flushing with two different amounts of flushing fluid. The bottom valve member of the device comprises two float rods which are each connected to a float. The float rod for the small flushing amount is fixedly connected to the bottom valve member, whereas the float rod for the large flushing amount is connected to the bottom valve member via a lost-motion coupling to make it possible for the bottom valve member to move upwards and downwards relative to this float road. In the resting position, the float rod for flushing with the large amount of flushing fluid is locked by means of a lock, such that the float connected to this float rod does not affect the lowering of the bottom valve member towards its valve seat during flushing. The flushing with the small amount of flushing fluid will thus be determined completely by the movements of the other float rod and its associated float.

Abstract: Provided is a clay pigeon which is a saucer-shaped compressed piece of clay and one or more additives. One of the additives is a calcium-based compound which reduces the drying shrinkage of clay and stabilizes the clay, which is preferably limestone powder or mortar. The clay content is at least 50% and the additive content 5-50%, calculated from the dry matter of the clay pigeon. The clay pigeon may also contain another additive reducing drying shrinkage and a component improving the plasticity of the mass. Also provided is a method for preparing a clay pigeon, where clay, one or more additives, and optionally a component improving the plasticity of the mixture are mixed to form a mass. Water is added if necessary to improve the plasticity of the mass, the mass is fed into a mold in which it is compressed for a moment, and the clay pigeon is removed from the mold while still in a plastic state.

Abstract: A water toilet has a valve arrangement of the integrated type, i.e. the float and all valves form a unit which in its mounted position is connected to the outlet pipe of the flush water container. According to the invention the unit is loosely connected to said pipe and mechanically retained at its top end by means cooperating with the inner surface of the top portion of the water container wall.

Abstract: A wall-mounted wash-basin is supported by a mechanism which permits adjustment of the vertical position of the wash-basin by movement around a horizontal axis parallel with the wall. According to the invention the wash-basin is tiltable between an upper position, where the top surface of the basin is at least substantially horizontal and the bottom of the basin is inclined from the user downwardly towards the wall, and a lower position in which the basin bottom is substantially horizontal.

Abstract: A children's highchair equipped with a removable play and food tray that is readily attachable and detachable from the chair. At forward arm sections of the chair a bar extending between the arm supports fits into a recess on a rearward edge of the tray. The bar serves as a forward child restraint, with or without the tray in place. Shafts extend rearward from the tray, and projections on the shaft fit into aligning holes in the highchair sides to forms, with the holes, locking means attaching the tray to the chair. The tray is pivotal about the bar that secures it in place at the forward end of the arm support sections and the projections on the shafts have latching bosses on their ends that latch about the inside edges of the cooperating holes when slight downward pressure is applied on the play and food surface of the tray.

Abstract: The invention concerns a restroom for disabled persons. The problem solved by the invention is the difficulty which such persons experience when trying to use the various facilities of a conventional restroom. A restroom according to the invention includes a swingable wall carrying a bidet seat which is swingable around a horizontal axis and may perform two further functions. One of them is to allow the disabled person, while sitting on the seat, to move to and from a sanitary apparatus, such as a wash basin. The second function is to serve as a support when swung upwards to a vertical position.

Abstract: The invention relates to a bidet arrangement for restrooms and solves most of the problems experienced by disabled persons wishing to visit a restroom without having to be assisted by another person. The bidet is of the type having no bowl, the water being instead supplied from a hand shower nozzle. According to the invention the seat (3) of the bidet is swingable between a horizontal position, in which the bidet function may be performed, and a vertical position in which a member (8) carried by the seat may serve as a support for a standing person. The arrangement also includes means (4, 5) protecting the seat from unintentionally leaving its vertical position.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for removing separable impurities from a liquid. In the method, the liquid is caused to pass radially through a cylindrical roll of web-like, wet-strength fiber material at the same time as the fiber web which forms the roll is continuously drawn out at low speed from the roll at that circumferential side where the liquid is caused to enter. As a result, the roll constantly offers a relatively clean surface to the penetrating liquid. The apparatus comprises a chamber for the roll, a conduit for conducting the liquid to the one circumferential side of the roll, a discharge for conveying off liquid from the vessel at the other side of the roll, rollers for guided withdrawal of the fiber web, and a receptacle for collecting the web withdrawn from the roll.

Abstract: A device for purifying water in small sewer systems (e.g. a system connected to one or a few family houses) includes means for automatic addition of a chemically active liquid to the water passing through the device. The invention eliminates the need of any movable parts by using two siphon tubes controlling the liquid supply. One of the siphon tubes is traversed by the sewer water and the corresponding flow generates a suction which is relied upon to transfer the chemically active liquid through the second siphon tube.

Abstract: In a vacuum sewer system a tank is provided for the collection of liquid-mixed wastes, especially from water closets, the tank comprising a circulating pump whose inlet and outlet are connected to the tank and which is adapted to circulate the tank contents in a closed path for agitation, comminution and aeration thereof, and a liquid jet pump is inserted in the closed path to establish the necessary vacuum for the sewer system.

Abstract: An oven for treating food including a well of sheet metal material that is open at the top, a removable insert open at the top end located in the well, the side walls and bottom of the insert being spaced from the side walls and bottom of the well to define air circulating passages therebetween with the top of the circulating passages being open. The insert also includes a plurality of gill openings formed in the side walls of the insert, the gill openings having the open portion thereof facing upwards on the outer side of the insert to divert air from the air passages into the interior of the insert. The insert further includes openings at the bottom thereof for communicating the air passages with the interior of the insert. The oven further includes a removably fitted lid which forms the top thereof, and an air circulating fan depending from the lower side of the lid for drawing air upwardly out of the insert.

Abstract: An apparatus of an elastic material is intended to be placed along the upper edge of a closet pan for more effective distribution of the flushing liquid as it flows from the flushing liquid container to the pan. The apparatus has a longitudinal channel with a row of outlet openings which are directed towards the inner wall of the closet pan, and a slot along the row of openings which is normally closed because of the inherent elasticity of the material, but in which a tool may be inserted and pulled the length of the slot and row of openings for cleaning the channel and the openings.

Abstract: A water closet, in particular a water closet which is connected to a discharge vacuum conduit, comprises a container which is divided into a first and second compartment by means of a movable wall, the compartments being each connected by means of a conduit to either a source of water under pressure or the flushing device of the closet pan by the intermediary of a valve mechanism. On actuation of the valve mechanism the second compartment of the container is connected to the source of water under pressure, whereby the movable wall is shifted by the water flowing into the second compartment and forces the water present in the first compartment into the flushing device of the closet pan.

Abstract: A mixing valve for hot and cold water has two control levers for single hand operation each governing the position of a valve plug. The one lever controls the flow rate of the hot water and the other the flow rate of the cold water. The temperature of the mixed water is regulated by change of the relative positions of the levers and its flow rate is controlled by movement of the levers in unison. Such movement will leave the temperature unaffected because the levers actuate the plugs over cam means and the control surfaces between those means and the plugs yield a logarithmic relationship between the flow area at each plug and the corresponding lever movement.

Abstract: This invention relates to a die casting machine with a rotating frame carrying several molds. These molds are arranged to advance consecutively by stepwise rotation to a common station where removal of the castings takes place. The machine is especially suited for casting objects of ceramic and similar materials, and for this reason the molds are enclosed in separable, bi-sectional flasks designed to facilitate removal of the castings.
