    Abstract: A fluid preparation of petrolatum capable of being sprayed on to a surface. The preparation includes paucilamellar lipid vesicles containing the petrolatum. Preferably, petrolatum comprises about 20-30% or more of the total weight of the vesicles. Methods of protecting the skin of mammals using the fluid preparation of petrolatum are also discussed.
