Abstract: The invention, the Rad9 electronic computer platform, was developed to eliminate most of the complexity of developing casino games, since when developing a casino game, the vast majority of the design and development time is spent dealing with industry regulatory requirements, accounting requirements, backend system protocols and hardware interaction. The invention was developed to eliminate these problems from the development cycle, leaving only the game design and development. With abstraction layers and a modular design, Rad9 provides unprecedented flexibility when dealing with changes in hardware, backend systems, and progressive systems, in which it is possible to exchange hardware systems, target board and backend systems without affecting the game code or requiring a recompile.

  • Publication number: 20070267816
Abstract: Video gaming systems for wagering are usually required to interact through hardware I/O (Input/Output) interfaces with peripherals and other external systems. Often, the interaction includes real-time requirements which are not easily met when using preemptive multitasking operating systems, such as Microsoft's Windows. By combining various features of the operating system, it is possible to provide real-time responses while still maintaining the performance of the video game itself.
