  • Patent number: 4533912
Abstract: An equipment is disclosed for displaying alphanumerical and/or pictorial information offering a high working reliability even in case of unfavorable working conditions. The plate of a display board is provided with a ground-color painted surface wherein one or more apertures are shaped along one or parallelly running more axes. Tiltable masks are arranged behind the aperture/s/ along at least one row in a manner that they may by tilting them be turned through the said aperture/s/ so as to cover each one dot of the surface of the said plate. The color of the masks is differing from the ground-color. The display pattern selection is performed by a mechanism comprising two levers arranged in different heights and angle positions at the body of the mask and co-operating with a fixed buffer and another buffer which can be changed over between two working positions the said buffers being arranged on a carriage displaceable along the plate.

  • Patent number: 4494765
Abstract: The invention relates to an anti-jackknifing device for an articulated motor vehicle, mainly for an articulated bus, where the torque influencing the jackknifing angle is brought about by a friction brake mechanism around the articulated coupling. The anti-jackknifing device has sensor elements sensing the run-dynamic characteristics connected to a control unit that controls the brake actuating unit of the brake mechanism. One of the elements of the friction brake mechanism braked in relation to each other is connected to one of the two or three vehicle units coupled to each other--i.e. front vehicle, trailer and intermediate vehicle unit--while the other element is connected to at least one of the further two vehicle units. One of the friction elements of the friction brake mechanism according to the invention is formed as brake rod connected to one of the vehicle units, the other friction element i.e.

  • Patent number: 4416435
Abstract: A baggage-handling system, especially for airports, in which baggage is moved separately through the terminal from the passengers but generally in the same direction to and from the aircraft, the baggage route through the terminal structure being below the floor over which the passengers move. Between the terminal structure and the aircraft the passengers and baggage are transported by a vehicle which can be raised and lowered in a passenger compartment above a floor while the baggage is accommodated therebelow. According to the invention, in the terminal the baggage transportation system comprises a network of conveyors or tracks which have paths extending parallel to one another generally in the direction of passenger and baggage movement and transverse tracks or paths as well.

  • Patent number: 4403803
Abstract: A passenger and luggage handling system for an air terminal utilizes a unique bus-type vehicle according to the invention which has a passenger compartment in the elongated body which is separated from the luggage compartment extending longitudinally therealong, preferably beneath the passenger compartment. At one end of the vehicle the passenger compartment has an elevatable stairway having a member which can be lifted strictly vertically to the height of the aircraft door, thereby entraining a corresponding number of steps of the stairway also strictly vertically. The luggage compartment is provided with means, e.g. a conveyor, for moving the luggage through this compartment or into and out of the compartment.

  • Patent number: 4365685
Abstract: Equipment influencing the jacknifing angle of an articulated motor vehicle, when the vehicle units are in articulated coupling with each other, has a hydraulic piston device with two working spaces arranged outside the longitudinal centerline of the motor vehicle, the piston of which is connected to one unit, while its cylinder is connected to the other vehicle unit. Each working space is connected through a hydraulic valve unit to the hydraulic space of the hydropneumatic energy source, the valve unit has a parallel connected check valve and choke valve closing from the direction of the working space toward the hydropneumatic energy source. An adjustable transfer cross sectional closing element of the choke valve is in functional connection with the sensor element sensing the steering angle and direction of the front axle and the actuating signal of the sensor element is concomitant with the position of one of the choke valves bringing about increased choking.

  • Patent number: 4355840
Abstract: The invention relates to a closed vehicle and a complex equipment for managing services at airports, for the direct transport of passengers and luggages from the administrating and luggage manipulating area to the airplane. The essence of the closed vehicle according to the invention is, that a part of the passenger space is forming a flight of stairs, the height of which can be optionally adjusted, furthermore the passenger space is formed in the longitudinal centerline of the vehicle. Preferably the lifting device of the flight of stairs is fixed to the stair-step, which can be lifted to the highest point. The displacement clearance between the elements connecting the stair-steps following each other corresponds to the height of the stair-step. The attainable maximal height of stairs is determined by the number of stair-steps applied.Preferably, the luggage space is arranged below the passenger space; in the luggage space at least one continuous transit path is formed.

  • Patent number: 4344640
Abstract: An antijackknifing apparatus for an articulated vehicle has an angle evaluating unit and an articulation locking mechanism including a locking activator unit. A control signal is produced corresponding to the sign of the deviation of the angle of articulation, the sign being positive when disposed to the right when viewed from above in the direction of movement and being negative when disposed to the left. The locking actuator unit also receives a direction signal which is positive when the change in the angle of articulation of the vehicle when view from above is clockwise and negative when counterclockwise. The locking activator unit goes into a locked condition when two opposite sign input signals are applied thereto.
