    Abstract: A coating composition for imparting a hydrophobic film on a target surface is provided that includes a quaternary ammonium silane salt, a solvent, and a solid lubricant. The composition is stable and able to impart a hydrophobic film even after storage for several weeks at elevated temperature. The composition is non-absorbable or non-penetrative into an elastomeric applicator onto which the water repellant (WR) coating is applied, preserving the capability of transferring the WR ingredients of the coating from the wiper blade insert to a windshield on which the wiper blade insert is operated, even after the coated wiper blade insert has been aged for an extended period of time in storage. A wiper blade insert is also provided having the above composition applied and instructions for the securement of the wiper blade to a vehicle to impart the hydrophobic film to a vehicle windshield contacted by the wiper blade insert.

    Abstract: A system and method are provided that enables windshield wiper blades to be replaced without the complexity of removing and reattaching adapters to the wiper arms with every wiper blade replacement cycle. The wiper blade adapter is reusable and stays connected to the windshield wiper arm while providing a simple connecting system that enables the attachment of the wiper blade to the base of the adapters. The adapters are made of engineered plastic that does not wear as quickly as the rubber squeegee and does not need to be replaced as often as the wiper blade. The reusable wiper blade adapter employs a simple mating connector on the wiper blade that provides for an intuitive motion to attach and detach from the base of the adapter thus providing for a simpler blade replacement process.

The composition provides a disinfectant for hard-nonporous and soft surfaces and allows for immediate occupancy and contact with a cleaned interior surface. The composition may be packaged as a ready-to-use disinfectant spray in an aerosol container with an on/off lockable discharge actuator as fine mist droplets that are dispersed onto the target surfaces for treatment.

    Abstract: A method for introducing a reflective, refractive, and/or diffractive variable and/or non-variable image to a substrate by use of thermal transfer printing includes simultaneously transferring a defined portion of each of a protective coating layer, an image layer, and an adhesive layer from a carrier film of a transfer ribbon to the substrate by applying heat to the transfer ribbon. The defined portions of the image layer and the protective coating layer are adhered to the substrate using the adhesive layer. Subsequent to transferring the protective coating layer, the image layer, and the adhesive layer, durability is provided to the image layer by cross-linking the protective coating layer that is over the image layer by exposing the protective coating layer to a radiation source after the defined portions of the protective coating layer, the image layer, and the adhesive layer are transferred from the carrier film.

The lock pin communicates with the electric actuator on the opposite side of the lock pin from the lock pin's entry into the lock cavity by means of sidebars passing to the side of the lock cavity. The lock bar and sidebars are substantially coplanar with an actuation axis to prevent passage of liquid along these elements between the lock pin and the actuator.
