Abstract: A powder actuated fastening tool including a charge advance apparatus for advancing a powder charge strip relative to a barrel of the tool, wherein the charge advance apparatus includes a rotatable ratchet having teeth for engaging receptacles formed in the powder charge strip, and a charge advance member coupled to a trigger of the tool, wherein the charge advance member acts on the rotatable ratchet to rotate the ratchet in response to actuation and/or release of the trigger, such that the rotation of the ratchet causes advance of the powder charge strip relative to the barrel.

Abstract: A method of repairing a surface defect with a patch is provided. A fibrous substrate is impregnated with a formulation that includes a polyester resin, a crosslinking agent, a solvent, and a particulate filler. The fibrous substrate is contacted with the surface defect. The formulation is exposed to actinic radiation to induce cure of the formulation to form the patch to repair the surface defect. A kit is also provided that includes a bottle containing the formulation. A sheet of fibrous support material is also provided that is adapted to receive the formulation therethrough. Instructions for repairing a surface defect by the aforementioned method are also provided as part of the kit. 3D printing of an article to fit in the surface defect is also disclosed.

Abstract: A battery powered welding system is provided. In one welding system a battery powered welder includes control circuitry configured to control a welding power output converted from power from an external battery power source. The battery powered welder also includes a wire drive assembly coupled to the control circuitry and configured to feed a welding wire using power from the external battery power source. The battery powered welder includes a case integrally supporting and enclosing the control circuitry and the wire drive assembly. The case is not configured to enclose the external battery power source.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of welding filler metals, and more particularly to compositions suitable for welding or brazing aluminum alloys. In an embodiment, an aluminum-silicon-magnesium alloy, includes a magnesium content between approximately 0.1 wt % and approximately 0.5 wt %, wherein substantially all of the magnesium content is present as magnesium silicide. The alloy includes a silicon content between approximately 5.0 wt % and approximately 6.0 wt %, wherein at least 4.75 wt % of the silicon content is present as free silicon. The alloy includes one or more of iron, copper, manganese, zinc, and titanium. The alloy further includes a remainder of aluminum and trace components.
Abstract: A welding-type system includes a wire feeder to provide an electrode wire to a welding-type torch. A welding-type power supply to provide power to one or both of the welding-type torch or the wire feeder. A controller is configured to control a sense voltage circuit to provide a sense voltage to charge a control capacitor, monitor a voltage feedback signal, determine that a wire feeder is activated based on a first change in the voltage feedback signal, control the switched mode power supply to provide a constant voltage output signal during a welding operation, control the switched mode power supply to provide the pulsed power output in response to completion of the welding operation, determine that the wire feeder is deactivated based on a second change in the feedback signal, adjust a pulse rate of the output signal to achieve an RMS value below a predetermined RMS level.
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and/or methods for configuring and/or reconfiguring welding-type power sockets and/or welding-type plugs are disclosed. In some examples, welding-type power sockets and/or welding-type plugs may be configurable (and/or reconfigurable) through custom socket inserts, socket connectors, plug adapters, and plug receptacles.
Abstract: A squeegee drip collection system is configured to receive assembly material from at least one squeegee blade of the print head assembly. The squeegee drip collection system includes a paste shield coupled to the print head gantry and configured to be moved between a retracted position in which the paste shield is spaced from the at least one squeegee blade and an extended position in which the paste shield is positioned under the at least one squeegee blade. The squeegee drip collection system further includes a paste shield removal assembly configured to uncouple the paste shield from the print head gantry and to remove the paste shield.

Abstract: Systems and methods to design part weld processes are disclosed. An example system for monitoring welding of components of a workpiece with multiple arc welds in a fixture includes: one or more weld sensors configured to collect data associated with the multiple arc welds; and a computing device configured to: access a weld program; provide weld instructions defined in the weld program and associated with a sequence of welds for the workpiece, the weld instructions comprising a visual slide including an image of the workpiece and a visual indication of a first location of a first weld; based on the weld program, display the visual slide at a first zoom level; based on the weld program, display the visual slide at a second zoom level; and monitor first weld data from the one or more sensors during a first weld to determine a status of the first weld.

Abstract: A liquid distributor for a liquid-transfer system of a conveyor dishwasher has first, second and third connections. The liquid sprayed in at least one final-rinse zone of the conveyor dishwasher can be fed to the liquid distributor via the first connection, wherein some of the liquid fed to the liquid distributor can be discharged, via the second connection, to a line system which can be connected to the second connection, and wherein the rest of the liquid fed to the liquid distributor can be discharged, via the third connection, to at least one line system which can be connected to the third connection. The liquid distributor has an interchangeable aperture component, which defines the fraction of liquid which is fed to the liquid distributor via its first connection and is to be discharged, via the second connection, to the line system which can be connected to the second connection.

Abstract: A high purity control valve for use in high conductance, proportional control applications includes a moveable control plate having a flow-through passage to enhance fluid sweep of the internal valve volume. Nested orifice ridges are used to achieve high conductance with small actuator movement. Enhanced leak tightness can be provided by incorporating into the control plate materials softer than the material comprising the orifice ridge. The control plate comprises a control plate body having a counterbore in fluid communication with a conduit, radial fluid flow paths and axial fluid flow paths. A flat side of the control plate includes a continuous uninterrupted flat portion to shut-off fluid flow in the valve. The radial fluid flow paths provide fluid communication from the counterbore to a circumferential perimeter of the control plate and the axial fluid flow paths provide fluid communication with the fluid conduit through an intermediate valve chamber portion.
Abstract: Welding power supplies, wire feeders, and systems to measure a weld circuit resistance via communications over the weld circuit are disclosed. An example welding-type power supply includes: a power conversion circuitry configured to: convert input power to output a signal via a weld circuit; and convert the input power to output welding-type power via the weld circuit; a voltage monitor configured to measure a power supply output voltage of the signal; communications circuitry configured to receive, via the weld circuit, a communication of a second voltage measurement; and control circuitry configured to: determine a resistance and/or and inductance of a portion of the weld circuit based on the power supply output voltage measurement, the second voltage measurement, and a weld circuit current.

Abstract: A rotating power connection for connecting an electrical supply power cable to an electric welding torch body is provided. In the rotating power connection, the mechanical load is carried by steel bearings, and the electric load is carried by multi-contact, spring loaded fins made out of highly conductive materials or coatings. In some examples, a rotating power connector is affixed to a torch before the power connection to a wire feeder. The rotating power connector advantageously allows for rotation of the welding torch relative to the unicable while providing continual electrical connection at the high current levels employed in welding applications.
