Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are provided that include wireless control of output characteristics. Such systems, apparatuses, and methods may include wearable items and such controllable output characteristics may relate to illumination characteristics. In one example, a wearable item includes a receiver, a power source, an illumination device adapted to illuminate a first color and a second color different than the first color, and a processor in communication with the receiver, the power source, and the illumination device. The receiver is adapted to receive a signal and communicate the signal to the processor. The processor is configured to illuminate the illumination device in one of the first color and the second color based on the signal received by the receiver.
