    Abstract: A die set can be provided for use in a crimping tool to crimp a connector onto a conductor. A first die of the die set can include a mating surface and a working surface. The mating surface can selectively mate with the crimping tool. The working surface can include an indenting member that projects away from the mating surface to form an indentation in the connector when the connector is crimped to the conductor by the crimping tool. The indenting member can include a plurality of non-planar faces, each of the plurality of non-planar faces including a concave portion.

    Abstract: A crimping tool uses a die set with a single point indenter profile to allow of a wide range of electrical connectors and conductors without changing die sets and/or crimping tools. This avoids the need to purchase a separate crimping tool. A die set with an indenter feature in two configurations encompasses the required range of conductors in existing crimping tools, consisting of two pyramid indenter dies and one common wedge die. One advantage of this invention is it allows the strength and versatility of a die set with a single-point indenter without the purchase of a separate crimping tool. The dies of this invention do not require switching out for different sized lugs, thus reducing misplacement and loss. The die halves replace numerous standard U-dies, making the dies of this invention more appealing while offer enhanced pullout strength of connections resulting from this invention.

    Abstract: Pressure gauges according to this invention provide pressure measurement on all brands of crimping tools, including 6-Ton D3 tools. In particular, this design eliminates the need to remove the tool crimp head to measure the pressure of the crimping tool. Additionally, this design eliminates the need to install additional dedicated fixtures on the crimping tool to measure the ram pressure. This design incorporates a self-centering profile to avoid side-loading when mounting the pressure gauge in the crimping tool. The dial indicator on pressure gauges of this invention captures and holds the maximum pressure reading with the use of a simple manual lever. The lever can be easily reset for the next pressure reading. Pressure gauges according to various embodiments of this invention include dual piston pressure sensors. Additionally, pressure measurement is accomplished with a simple hydro mechanical manometer display.
