Abstract: A thermoacoustic imaging apparatus comprises an electromagnetic radiation source, an acoustic signal detection probe and a radiation responsive acoustic signal generator outside the sample area. The detection probe arrangement detects both signals generated in the sample area in response to the electromagnetic irradiation and an acoustic signal from the radiation responsive acoustic signal generator that has traveled through the sample area. An acoustic transmission parameter such as a speed of sound or absorption as a function of a position in the sample area is computed from signals due to the radiation responsive acoustic signal generator. The acoustic transmission parameter is used to correct the computation of a thermoacoustic image from detections due to acoustic signals generated in the sampled area.

Abstract: A printing control method of a multi-nozzle binary continuous ink jet printer wherein drops of a first category and drops of a second category are formed by jet breaking. The flowpaths followed by the drops of the first and second categories are differentiated. For printing a black pixel followed by a white pixel, a drop of the first category and a drop of the second category are formed. The cumulative formation time drops of the first and second categories is equal to or higher than the running time of one pixel.

Abstract: The invention discloses a improved process for the preparation of 3,5-disubstituted-2,4,6-triiodo aromatic amines of formula (II), wherein R1 and R2 are defined as herein. The compounds of formula (II) are the key intermediates for the synthesis of a series of non-ionic contrast agents such as Iopamidol, Iohexol and Iodixanol. The process comprises reacting chlorine-free iodinating reagents with 3,5-disubstituted-2,4,6-triiodo aromatic amines to obtain 3,5-disubstituted-2,4,6-triiodo aromatic amines of formula (II), wherein the molar yield of the iodination reaction can reach to 89%.

Abstract: An improved synthesis method for preparation of iodixanol, and a purification process through macroporous adsorption resin chromatographic column and recrystallization are provided. The synthesis method relates to dimerization of 5-acetamido-N,N?-bis(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-2,4,6-triiodo-isophthalamide (compound A) to prepare iodixanol, wherein excessive side reactions such as alkylation are effectively inhibited by controlling the pH of the reaction mixture with a boron-containing acidic substance or salts thereof such as boric acid. In this way, the conversion rate of compound A to iodixanol is 85-90%. The iodixanol crude product is purified by a macroporous adsorption resin chromatographic column, obtaining iodixanol product with recovery of 90-95% and purity of 96-98%. The iodixanol crude product is recrystallized in mixed solvent containing 2-methoxyethanol, obtaining iodixanol product with recovery of 90-95% and purity of greater than 99%.

Abstract: A method of transmitting packets over a network includes steps of transmitting a first plurality of test packets during a first plurality of time locations that are coarsely spaced apart in time; determining which of the first plurality of time locations corresponds to favorable network traffic conditions; transmitting a second plurality of test packets over the network during a second plurality of time locations that are finely spaced apart in time, wherein the second plurality of time locations are selected on the basis of favorable network traffic conditions; determining which of the second plurality of time locations corresponds to favorable network traffic conditions; and transmitting data packets over the network using one or more favorable time locations determined by the finely spaced test packets. The method can be used to “zero in” on congested network periods by detecting differences in packet latencies among test packets.

The container further includes a stabilizing arm that has a first end and a second end. The stabilizing arm is movably connected to the base portion so as to be movable with relation thereto. The stabilizing arm may thus be moved from a position in which the stabilizing arm first end is proximate to the base portion and lies in substantially the same plane as the base portion to a position in which the stabilizing arm first end is extended away from the base portion and lies in substantially the same plane as the base portion. The first end of the stabilizing arm, when extended away from the base portion, may be inserted within the crease between the seating portion and the back support portion of a vehicle seat.
