  • Patent number: 4262084
Abstract: The invention provides on improved process for preparing a screen stencil, and a screen stencil prepared by the process. The process includes the steps of placing a porous support for a screen stencil over a mounting plate, saturating the porous support with a substantially carrier-free radiation curable composition. A backing plate is placed over the saturated porous support and rolling pressure is applied to the backing plate while allowing any excess composition to flow out from between the mounting plate and backing plate. The composition is then exposed to radiation through a positive disposed opposite the backing plate, and thereafter, uncured composition is removed from the porous support.
