Abstract: A method of generating a haptic effect using a variation in sound volume is provided. According to the method, when an electronic device having the haptic device provides a sound effect, by dividing the variation types of a sound volume stored as generated sound source data, and generating the haptic effects depending on the variation types, the haptic feedback can be provided together with the audio feedback to the user. Furthermore, by dividing the variation types of sound volume before and after output with respect to sound output which consecutively changes, and generating the haptic effects depending on the variation types, various haptic feedbacks can be provided together in line with the audio feedback provided to the user.
