Abstract: A system is provided wherein information is provided once, and that information is provided to multiple provider systems. Information provided by a user is stored and implemented for each provider as needed. The information is provided by a user to a central server that distributes the information to one or more provider systems. In particular, the information is stored in a database and distributed to the provider system depending on the type of transaction. According to one aspect, the information is stored in an unstructured format in the database. In some embodiments the information contains metatags or indicators that can be parsed by a parser to extract the data content from the desired data fields.

Abstract: A system and method is provided wherein a user chooses from an allowed preselected domain of query element values, presenting a query comprising a plurality of selected query element values, which form the basis for indexing query results. A database lookup is done according to the user's selections and index values, as well as relevancy values of other members of the allowed preselected domain of query element values. In some embodiments the query results are assigned to arbitrary tags or numbers to prevent unauthorized competing search providers from appropriating the query results.

Some aspects of the invention provide methods for facilitating electronic certification using authority-neutral service requests sent by an application, which are then formatted by a server comprising a middleware that can convert the authority-neutral request into certification authority specific objects. The server and middleware then return a response from a selected certification authority back to the service requesting application. Thus, the server and/or middleware act as intermediaries that facilitate user transactions in an environment having multiple certification authorities without undue burden on the applications or the expense and reliability problems associated therewith.
