Publication number: 20120204103Abstract: Techniques for adaptively processing a set of documents. The techniques include adaptively processing a plurality of documents associated with one or more transactions by processing at least a first document of the plurality of documents based at least in part on a first rule, wherein the first rule uses a first value for a first parameter associated with the first rule, determining whether to update the first rule based at least in part on a measure of performance evaluated for the first document, and if it is determined based on the measure of performance that the first rule is to be updated, updating the first rule by changing the first value of the first parameter to a second value different from the first value.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2012Publication date: August 9, 2012Applicant: Imagitek, Ltd. Patent number: 5053825Abstract: This invention relates to an toner cartridge to dispense toner to a developing system in a photocopying device. The cartridge has a primary baffle thereby forming a main chamber and a dispensing chamber. The dispensing chamber is divided into a primary dispensing chamber and a secondary dispensing chamber by a secondary baffle. Apertures are formed in the container adjacent to the secondary dispensing baffle. The cartridge is designed to be rotated in one direction to fill the secondary dispensing chamber with toner, and then rotated in an opposite direction to dispense the toner from the secondary dispensing chamber through the apertures.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1989Date of Patent: October 1, 1991Assignee: Imagitek, Inc.Inventors: John W. Trainor, Bruce E. Holtje, Laura M. Gilbert

Patent number: 4959690Abstract: This invention relates to a cross-mixer for a developer system of a photocopier, particularly one with a two component development system, which mixes the developer mixture (1) to assure uniform lateral distribution of the toner, (2) to assure uniform concentration of the toner mixture and (3) to triboelectrically charge the developer mixture.Adjacently offset rows of V-shaped baffles successively divide and intermix the developer mixture. Angled lifting plates interposed between successive rows of baffles scoop and lift the mixture so as to triboelectrically charge the same.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1989Date of Patent: September 25, 1990Assignee: Imagitek, Inc.Inventors: John W. Trainor, Bruce E. Holtje

Patent number: 4922304Abstract: A fuser belt for a reproduction machine is disclosed. The belt may have one of several configurations which all include ridges and interstices on the outer surface which contacts the print media. These interstices are formed between regularly spaced ridges, between randomly spaced particles, between knit threads. These interstices allow the free escape of steam from the media during high-temperature fusing of the reproduction process. As the steam escapes freely, the steam does not accumulate in the media causing media deformations and copy quality deterioration. Additionally, media handling is improved because the ridges and interstices reduce the unwanted but unavoidable introduction of thermal energy into the copy media.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1988Date of Patent: May 1, 1990Assignee: ImagitekInventors: Laura M. Gilbert, David Vermaat

Patent number: 4920471Abstract: The invention relates to a high voltage AC power supply which can be operated as either a constant current source with overvoltage protection or as a constant voltage source with current limiting protection. The power supply includes a sinusoidal transformer having a high turn winding and a sampling circuit on its secondary side for sampling voltage proportional to the load current. A comparator compares the sampled voltage to a reference voltage and supplies an error voltage to a buck regulator. The buck regulator converts the error voltage to a variable DC voltage which is fed to an oscillator formed by the primary winding of the transformer.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1988Date of Patent: April 24, 1990Assignee: ImagitekInventors: Robert N. Livingston, Michael Kosteva

Patent number: 4898374Abstract: A stacking apparatus for a reproduction machine which can accommodate media sheets as greatly different sizes. An intermittent driving device is used so as to alterantely buckle and relax the sheet media thereby urging the sheet into various recesses which are formed in the apparatus so as to engage sheet media of various sizes.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1988Date of Patent: February 6, 1990Assignee: Imagitek, Inc.Inventor: David L. Vermaat

Patent number: 4898375Abstract: This invention relates to a feed device which automatically straightens sheets prior to their being fed.A nudge wheel feeds the paper into the apparatus against a registration gate thereby straightening the sheet. At the appropriate time, a solenoid actuated clutch initiates a mechanically sequenced series of events which raise a set of feed tires so as to pinch (hold and secure) the previously straightened sheet, lower the registration gate out of the paper path, and start the feed tires and allow the sheet to be fed.At a second appropriate time after the sheet has been fed, the solenoid clutch is de-energized. Stored energy in a spring is used to mechanically reverse the sequence, whereby the feed tires are lowered out of the paper path and the registration gate is raised up into the paper path, preparatory to the next sheet.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1988Date of Patent: February 6, 1990Assignee: Imagitek, Inc.Inventor: Bruce E. Holtje

Patent number: 4884798Abstract: A feed mechanism for a photocopy or similar machine directs the media, particularly wide-format media, into a receiving tray along a path which is substantially parallel to, but in the opposite direction of, the original media path. This allows for the removal of media from the front of the photocopy machine. With the drive mechanism in a first configuration, the leading edge of the media is fed directly into the receiving tray. Responsive to a position of the leading edge of the media, the drive mechanism changes to a second configuration so that the subsequent portion of the media is allowed to form a loop and to be delivered to a second receiving area.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1988Date of Patent: December 5, 1989Assignee: ImagitekInventor: David Vermaat

Patent number: 4869401Abstract: A cartridge dispenser for dispensing toner through the use of a plurality of baffles positioned within the cartridge which serve to collect a prescribed amount of toner and dispense it during different strokes of oscillation of the cartridge.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1988Date of Patent: September 26, 1989Assignee: ImagitekInventors: Bruce E. Holtte, John W. Trainor

Patent number: 4832450Abstract: A bar lens assembly for a reproduction machine is provided. The assembly includes a stiffening member provided with a mounting pin to which a bar lens array is mounted. The lens array is precisely located with respect to the mounting pin. A method for assembling the bar lens assembly is also disclosed wherein locating bushing is positioned over a mounting pin of a lens array mounting place and the lens array is provided with an opening through which the locating pin passes. The lens array is affixed to the mounting plate and thereafter the locating bushing is removed. The lens array is thereby precisely positioned with respect to the mounting plate.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1988Date of Patent: May 23, 1989Assignee: ImagitekInventor: John Trainor
