Patents Assigned to Impact Composite Technology, Ltd.
  • Publication number: 20120121860
Abstract: The invention relates in general to biomass derived compositions and methods of applying such biomass derived compositions to protect polymeric materials from degradation due to ultraviolet (“UV”) radiation or light and weathering. More particularly, the invention relates to the use of cotton gin waste to protect polymeric composites from degradation due to UV radiation and weathering. One embodiment of the present invention includes dusting the surface of liquid polymeric materials with a cotton gin waste powder to protect the polymeric material from UV radiation induced damage.

  • Publication number: 20070262174
Abstract: The particulate injection system of the present invention uses a pneumatically operated system to deliver particulate or filler material to the nozzle of a modified chopper type spray gun for making sprayed layups of reinforced plastic parts. The filler injection system delivers the filler material directly into the flow stream from the spray gun, thereby permitting a homogeneous admixture of the particulate matter with the stream of resin and chopped reinforcing fibers from the spray gun.

  • Publication number: 20060086826
Abstract: The filler injection system of the present invention uses a pneumatically operated system to deliver fine grained flaked bulk filler material to the nozzle of a modified chopper type spray gun for making sprayed layups of reinforced plastic parts. The filler injection system delivers the filler material directly into the flow stream from the spray gun, thereby permitting a homogeneous and intimate admixture of the filler with the stream of resin and chopped reinforcing fibers from the spray gun.
