Abstract: The present invention provides a medium voltage variable frequency driving system, including a three-phase switch-mode rectification module, a multilevel inverter and a high-capacity capacitor module. The three-phase switch-mode rectification module is coupled with a three-phase electrical grid, for converting an AC voltage input with a fixed operating frequency on the three-phase electrical grid into a DC voltage. The multilevel inverter is used for converting the DC voltage into an AC voltage with a required variable frequency, so as to drive an induction motor. The high-capacity capacitor module is coupled between the three-phase switch-mode rectification module and the multilevel inverter, for temporarily storing the DC voltage. In the present invention, a three-phase switch-mode rectification technology is used at the front-end rectifier, and a diode-clamped three-level inverter is adapted correspondingly at the rear-end inverter.
Abstract: Proposed is a parallel inverter drive system including includes a plurality of inverter drives connected in parallel with each other, in which each inverter drive includes a switch; a PWM controller connected to the switch for controlling switching operations of the switch device according to a duty cycle signal; and a circulating current suppressor for collecting current information associated with the current of each inverter drive and a summation current, and generating an index according to the collected current information and the desired circulating current quantity. A zero-sequence voltage is generated for each phase of a three-phase voltage command according to the index and the voltage command and the operating mode of the inverter drive, thereby injecting the zero-sequence voltage into the voltage command with a feed-forward configuration so as to fix the voltage command. The PWM controller can generate the duty cycle signal according to the fixed voltage command.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for mechanically cleaving a bonded wafer pair by controlling the rate of cleaving. This controlled rate of cleaving results in a reduction or elimination of non-uniform thickness variations in the cleaved surface of the resulting SOI wafer. One embodiment uses flexible chucks attached to the faces of the wafers and actuators attached to the flexible chucks to cleave the bonded wafer pair. Other embodiments also use rollers in contact with the surfaces to control the rate of cleaving.

Abstract: Apparatuses and systems for emulating electrical characteristics of a material having a known dielectric constant or property are disclosed for standardizing and calibrating of electromagnetic devices. The emulator apparatus can include an electrically non-conductive layer having a dielectric constant less than the material dielectric constant and an electrically conductive layer adjacent the non-conductive layer. Artificial dielectrics for emulating the dielectric constant of a material are also disclosed including a substrate matrix having a dielectric constant less than the material dielectric constant and an additive combined with the substrate, the additive having a dielectric constant higher than the material dielectric constant. Artificial dielectrics may simulate the frequency response of a material relating to a specific property.
Abstract: An apparatus comprises a test signal generator (401) which generates an ultrasonic test signal by modulating an audio band test signal on an ultrasonic signal. The ultrasonic test signal is radiated from a parametric loudspeaker (403) and is demodulated by non-linearities in the air. A reflected audio signal may arise from reflections of an object, such as a wall. An audio band sensor (405) generates an audio band captured signal which comprises the demodulated reflected audio band signal. A distance circuit (407) then generates a distance estimate for the distance from the parametric loudspeaker (403) to the object in response to a comparison of the audio band captured signal and the audio band test signal. Specifically two signals may be correlated to determine a delay corresponding to the full path length. Based on the distance estimates an audio environment may be estimated and a sound system may be adapted accordingly.
