  • Patent number: 6508704
Abstract: An air vent apparatus for blocking light is provided for devices requiring a light source for generating light, such as a presentation projector, an arc lamp, a laser device and the like. The improved air vent apparatus employs a stacked chevron design to minimize the restriction of the flow of air through the air vent while blocking the escape of direct light. In one embodiment of the present invention, the stacked chevron is symmetrically disposed in the air vent housing of the device. In another embodiment of the present invention, the stacked chevron is asymmetrically disposed in the air vent housing so that a vane of the chevron extending towards the interior of the air vent is substantially perpendicular to the air vent housing and substantially parallel to the source of the flow of air.

  • Patent number: 6476566
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing ripple current in a projector lamp comprising an electrical network comprising input terminals A and C, and output terminals B and D, including a first inductive element and a second inductive element, each inductive element having a first terminal and a second terminal, with the second terminal of the first inductive element electrically connected with the second terminal of the second inductive element at output terminal B, with the first terminal of the first inductive element connected to input terminal A, and the first terminal of the second inductive element connected to input terminal C; and a means for impressing a first source of switching potential from an external source at input terminal A, and a second source of switching potential from the external source out-of-phase with the first source of switching potential, at input terminal C such that a ripple current across the output terminals B and D is minimum.

  • Patent number: 6426882
Abstract: An electronics housing enabled to compensate for the accumulation of dimensional tolerances to enable reliable connection between one or more connectors mounted to internal electronic components and external connectors from one or more external devices. An alignment plate is provided that adapts an aperture in the housing to the connectors. The alignment plate is adapted to account for tolerance accumulation by being positional within the housing while substantially covering the space between the connectors and the housing aperture. The alignment plate in cooperation with an EMI a shield provides electromagnetic shielding about the connectors.
