  • Patent number: 8117238
Abstract: A method of preparing a document for delivery to an electronic device including building a graph structure, include hyperlink nodes and bookmark nodes, representing a map of the document, and traversing and paginating the graph structure into successive pages each having a page index value. For each hyperlink node, the method includes storing in association with therewith a bookmark page index value that is the page index value of the page that includes the bookmark node having the bookmark that is the destination of the hyperlink of the hyperlink node. The pages may be selectively delivered to the electronic device. When a hyperlink in one of the pages is activated, the bookmark page index value that is stored in association with the corresponding hyperlink node may be identified, and the page that corresponds to the identified bookmark page index value may be transmitted to the electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20120036495
Abstract: Various methods, apparatuses and systems for supporting polymorphic elements at run-time in portable computing devices are provided. One embodiment includes a development tool that can be incorporated into an integrated development environment. (IDE) The development tool is configured to detect when a programming instruction corresponding to a polymorphic element is received. Upon such detection, the developer operating the IDE is prompted to provide specific mapping information such that an application that is finally generated using the IDE avoids or reduces the use of polymorphic elements and thereby reduce computing resource stresses on the device on which such an application is ultimately deployed.

  • Publication number: 20120036582
Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems and methods for implementation on a mobile device to force the mobile device into a secure state upon detection or determination of a triggering event. Once it is determined that a triggering event has occurred, each application operating on the mobile device is caused to immediately unreference sensitive objects and a secure garbage collection operation is performed upon the unreferenced sensitive objects to render data associated therewith unreadable. The mobile device is then caused to enter a secure state, in which the mobile device cannot be accessed without authorization. A microprocessor within the mobile device is configured to determine the existence of the triggering event according to a configuration data structure and to perform the secure garbage collection.

  • Publication number: 20120033808
Abstract: A public key for an Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem is generated in a manner that acts as a countermeasure to power analysis attacks. In particular, a known scalar multiplication method is enhanced by, in one aspect, performing a right shift on the private key. The fixed-sequence window method includes creation and handling of a translated private key. Conveniently, as a result of the right shift, the handling of the translated private key is made easier and more efficient.
