  • Patent number: 5088139
Abstract: A portable infant's play mat has a cushioned base portion and a cushioned wall portion which follows the perimeter of the base portion. Securing means are provided to removably secure the wall portion to the base portion. The base portion is foldable along a fold line. The mat has flaps attached to the underside of the base portion, the open sides of which are securable together with a zipper. With the mat in a folded position, the flaps may be turned inside out such that each encases a portion of the mat. The flaps when inside out and secured together thus form an integral carrying case. With the flaps inside out, a shoulder strap is exposed for easy carrying of the enclosed mat.

  • Patent number: 5035013
Abstract: The portable infant's play mat has a cushioned base portion and a cushioned wall portion which follows the perimeter of the base portion. Securing means are provided to removable secure the wall portion to the base portion. Both the wall portion and the base portion are foldable along a bisecting axis. Handles attached to the base portion are provided opposite each other along an axis perpendicular to the bisecting axis, to provide carrying ease when the mat is in a folded position. The securing means may be either a zipper or straps of hook and pile cloth which wrap around the wall portion. Toys or other objects may be removably attached to such straps or alternatively patches of hook and pile cloth may be applied to the wall portion to allow such objects to be affixed thereto. Pockets on the base of the mat are upright when the mat is folded in a carrying position and may be used to store objects during transportation of the mat.

  • Patent number: 4587980
Abstract: A novel portable cigarette holder, extinguisher and ashtray which is capable of fitting in the pocket, purse or handbag of a smoker. The holder-ashtray has a restricted internal throat which encircles the sides of a lighted cigarette butt inserted in the holder-ashtray and smothers the cigarette. The entrance to the holder-ashtray is flared to enhance entry of the lighted end of the cigarette into the holder-ashtray. The interior of the holder-ashtray is gradually flared away from the throat to encourage the cigarette butt to drop into the interior of the holder-ashtray. When inverted, the holder-ashtray retains the cigarette butt against the throat which acts as a stopper and prevents ashes falling out.

  • Patent number: 4462444
Abstract: An insulating jacket for a beverage container is disclosed. The jacket 10 includes an outer cover and an inner liner with a resilient insulating material therebetween. Thread at the seams fasten the upper and lower ends and the side ends to form the jacket into an endless covering. The folded outer covering extending beyond the upper and lower seams provides a resisting mechanism against forcing a container completely through the jacket. The jacket, thus, not only provides insulation from heat transfer, but also holds a container above a table top to eliminate moisture deposit.

  • Patent number: 4324362
Abstract: A pocket atomizer that can be primed to hold liquid such as tear gas, in position for immediate discharge upon first application of its plunger. The atomizer includes a hollow piston having a hollow piston rod. The piston is movable up and down within a pump cylinder to force liquid up through the hollow piston rod. A check valve is located within the lower end of the hollow piston rod, and an orifice is located in the upper end of the hollow piston rod for discharging the pumped liquid. A capillary tube located within the hollow piston rod has an upper end coupled to the orifice for preventing liquid from draining therefrom between uses and thereby eliminates the necessity of priming the atomizer between uses. The lower end of the capillary tube terminates some distance above the check valve to define a chamber above the check valve. The check valve includes a valve seat and a ball of greater diameter than the capillary tube and of sufficient mass to seat in the valve seat when the piston is moved up.

  • Patent number: 4253567
Abstract: A container for holding a plurality of cassettes in a stored environment such as an album. Each container is comprised of a flat wall portion, side walls, and a single end wall together with a preformed top wall. The cassette is inserted between the top wall and the bottom wall from an end portion. The top wall has a center portion displaced from the bottom wall a given amount sufficient to allow the cassette to enter freely. The bottom wall is substantially flat whereas opposing end portions of the top wall are spaced a greater distance from the bottom wall in the center portion and a distance sufficient to clear the extended flanges on the cassette that are in close proximity to the head portion. The pair of spaced-apart end portions on the top wall allow the cassette to be inserted in either direction and without restriction.
