  • Publication number: 20190305856
Abstract: An apparatus and method of propagating wireless signals through an impairment medium using a penetrator device within a wireless communication network is discussed herein. The apparatus and method includes transmitting a first radio frequency (RF) signal from a first point within the wireless communication network and receiving the first RF signal at a first unit of the penetrator device. The method further includes converting, by the first unit of the penetrator device, the RF signal into an optical signal and transmitting the optical signal from the first unit of the penetrator device to a second unit of the penetrator device through the impairment medium. The method also includes converting, by the second unit of the penetrator device, the optical signal into a second RF signal and transmitting, by the second unit of the penetrator device, the second RF signal to a second point within the wireless communication network.

  • Publication number: 20190298312
Abstract: Frequency is swept in acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) scanning. Different frequencies are used at different times during the ARFI. For example, different frequencies are focused to different depths in the ARFI transmit beam. Since the frequency sweep is used for the ARFI pushing pulse rather than a transmit pulse for which echoes are received, the rate of change of the frequency is not dictated by the speed of sound. The rate of change of the frequency may be adjustable or set based on other factors, such as the type of tissue. In combination with a time varying focal position, the frequency sweep may better compensate for loss as compared to a focus sweep alone. The frequency sweep may better compensate for loss as compared to a single point focus ARFI.

  • Patent number: 10433245
Abstract: A system, apparatus, method, and manufacture for generating backup power in a wireless communications system such as a wireless communications service base station. The system includes a communications interface, a primary power interface, a generator, rectifiers, and a battery circuit. During normal operation, the communications interface is powered from the primary power interface. During a power outage, the communications interface is powered from either the generator or the battery circuit. The generator is cycled on and off during power outages to charge the battery circuit while conserving fuel. • Patent number: 10430833
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems of a sensor surface object detection system are provided. Output from sensors of a vehicle may be used to describe an environment around the vehicle. In the event that a sensor is obstructed by dirt, debris, or detritus the sensor may not sufficiently describe the environment for autonomous control operations. The sensor surface object detection system may receive output from the sensors of the vehicle to determine whether any of the sensors are obstructed. The determination may be made by comparing the output of one sensor to another, determining whether the output of a sensor is within a predetermined threshold, or comparing characteristics of multiple sensor outputs to one another. When a sensor is determined to be obstructed, the system may send a command to a cleaning system to automatically remove the obstruction.
