Abstract: A simple method for non-destructively measuring the weight of a tree comprises measuring the capacitance of the root portion and the weight of the root portion, or the entirety, of each of different plant species at different stages of growth in advance, and applying the correlation to a measured value of capacitance of a particular plant body under investigation. The method allows the weight of the root portion or the total weight of the plant body to be non-destructively estimated.
