Abstract: A protective case for a mobile device having a shell portion to retentively house the mobile device, a cover portion that can cover a mobile device retentively housed in the shell portion, and a flexible panel portion connecting the shell portion to the cover portion. The cover portion can be adjusted from in front of the shell portion to behind the shell portion by flexing the flexible panel. A pivot stand is attached to the inner surface of the cover portion at a hinge. The pivot stand is configured to pivot outwardly along said hinge to support the case in an operating position.

Abstract: A case for an electronic device comprising an upper portion for holding the electronic device; a lower portion; and a hinge portion. The lower portion may include a wireless keyboard that is configured to interact with the electronic device. The upper portion and the lower portion of the case are connected by the hinge portion. The hinge portion includes a housing, a plurality of pins at least partially extending through the housing, and a plurality of hinge connectors. The hinge connectors include a pin sleeve portion rotatably positioned around and at least partially encircling each of the pins and an attachment portion that is attached to either the upper portion or the lower portion. In operation, the hinge facilitates the upper portion being rotatably locked into position relative to the lower portion in one or more predetermined positions. Sensors on the case may be provided to enable/disable the keyboard when the case is opened or closed in a predetermined position.

Abstract: A battery powered wireless audio speaker comprising a passive radiator is disclosed. The perimeter portion of the passive radiator is sandwiched between the speaker chassis and the retention gasket that resides between an external overlying perforated cover to firmly secure the passive radiator. The construction is capable of being well suited to enhance and improve integrity to the seal between the passive radiator and the speaker chassis in strenuous environment conditions such as when a speaker is submerged in water.

Abstract: A mobile device case or cover can include a distance marker for distance measurement. A mobile device coupled with the case may include a measurement application or module that can acquire video or still images of the distance marker. The measurement application can calculate a distance to the distance marker based on a captured image of the distance marker in the video or still images. The mobile device case can include a pocket, slot, or storage compartment for storing the distance marker.

Abstract: Removable cases for portable electronic devices incorporating memory tags (e.g., NFC memory tags) capable of being read by an electronic reading device are disclosed. The memory tags may be pre-programmed or programmable to contain one or more readable items of identification data associated with the custodian of the device or protective case. The memory tags may also or alternatively include code or executable commands that effectuate certain functionality (e.g., go into silent or airplane mode, call home or a particular person, turn off, check email, set alarm, play music or video, etc.) in another of the user's device. The protective case may protect, shield, and/or conceal the tag visually in part or in whole while allowing the tag to be read and the tags position visually identified. Systems and methods to recover lost or misplaced electronic devices using information contained in the memory tag of the protective enclosure are also disclosed.

Abstract: An improved battery case adapted to removably receive, protect and provide power to a mobile device is provided. The case includes a base configured to house a rechargeable battery, a user detachable back face cover capable of providing aesthetic modularity to the consumer and manufacturing advantages, and a bumper that is constructed to include a rigid inner frame or skeleton that includes an outwardly extending rib that is molded on either side with an outer softer and more elastic layer that extends over the face of the mobile device. The bumper can be molded as an integral part of the case or be removably attached to the a component of the case.

Abstract: A protective case for a tablet device having a back face and a front face, a touchscreen on its front face, and one or more control buttons and ports on its perimeter walls. The case comprises a shell having front and back sides wherein the front side is configured to receive and retain the tablet device while providing user access to the touchscreen and user access to one or more of the control buttons, said shell including a back wall that is configured to cover at least a portion of the back face of the tablet. The protective case further includes a front cover that includes a tray, a wireless keyboard and keyboard housing. The tray includes opposing side rails and the keyboard housing includes opposing grooves on opposing side walls that are concealed and configured to engage the rails to allow the keyboard housing to slide in and out from the tray in a defined manner. The tray, keyboard and shell may each include magnets to facilitate the positioning of the case in the various open and closed positions.

Abstract: A protective case for a mobile device is disclosed. The protective case includes a front cover and a relatively rigid shell, which together are configured to receive, retain, cover and protect the mobile device. The front cover includes multiple fold lines that extend across the cover and allow adjacent regions of the cover to rotate or move relative to each other. The shell is configured to receive and retain the mobile device while providing user access to the mobile device. The shell has an outer surface configured to include a latch with an integrated hook. In operation, the latch hooks and retains one end section of the front cover to maintain the device in an angled use position when open. When in the fully closed position the latch fits within an aperture defined within a back end region of the front cover. The aperture may be defined by a ring component that is dimensioned to receive the latch and firmly support the latch.

Abstract: A protective case for a mobile device having a multi-layered construction is disclosed. The multi-layered construction includes three layers that are co-molded to one another and is capable of being lightweight and low-profile, yet provide a high level of impact protection. The first layer generally forms the external back face surface of the case, the third layer generally forms the perimeter bumper of the case and the second layer forms the internal liner of the case and includes an elevated pattern of walls upon which the back face of the mobile device rest upon. The first layer is comprised of material that has a hardness greater than the other two layers. The third layer is comprised of a material that has a hardness that is greater than the second layer. The layers are configured to interact with one another so that they are capable of distributing and absorbing impact forces to mitigate damage to the mobile device.
