Abstract: A method and system for taking orders from a person are disclosed. The system and method may include a notification system and station that notifies a service associate of the need for assistance, and an ordering station wherein service is provided to the user in need. A button may be used as a trigger for a user to indicate he needs assistance. An internal notification system may be connected either wirelessly or via a wired connection, the internal notification system indicating when a user has depressed the button. A kit is also disclosed, the kit incorporating a selected group of the elements listed above.

Abstract: A portable kit for use at a polling place to ease access of a disabled person to voting facilities. The portable kit includes a case containing a base, a collapsible post for mounting on the base and an activation switch mountable on the post and having a radio transmitter for emitting a radio signal when operated by a disabled person. A sign is also provided on the post to alert the disabled person of the presence of the assistance. A radio receiver and loudspeaker is provided inside the polling place.

Optional items for the kit include a doorbell switch for the doorway into the service station store and potentially an access ramp. The kit may include additional signs, a checklist, a tape measure, and a doorstop. Installation instructions for the equipment is provided along with training guidelines for staff, tax forms and other accessibility information.
