Abstract: Systems and methods for forecasting trends using image data is disclosed. The method comprises determining trendsetter visual tokens of interest associated with an image data set of one or more trendsetters for a particular object category; determining a trendsetter adoption of one or more particular attributes of an object for the particular object category from the trendsetter visual tokens of interest; determining mainstream visual tokens of interest associated with an image data set of one or more mainstream adopters for the particular object category; determining a mainstream adoption of the one or more particular attributes of the object for the particular object category from the mainstream visual tokens of interest; and determining a state of a trend for the one or more particular attributes of the object based on the trendsetter adoption and the mainstream adoption.
Abstract: Systems and methods for analyzing trends in image data is disclosed. A trend query is received relating to an object category and defining two or more groups of interest for which trend data is to be determined with a defined time period. Visual tokens of interest are identified relating to the object category for use in searching a token database. One or more image data sets are identified that are associated with each of the two or more groups of interest. Visual tokens are analyzed matching the visual tokens of interest that are associated with the identified image data sets to generate trend data for each of the two or more groups of interest for the defined period of time. An output is generated based on a comparison of the trend data generated for the two or more groups of interest for the defined period of time.
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying trends in image data using image classification is disclosed. An image is processed to detect an object in the image by performing foreground detection on the image. The object is classified in accordance with an object category, and one or more attributes of the object are determined. A visual token is generated that comprises information including the object category and the one or more attributes of the object. A trend is identified in at least one of the object and an attribute of the object by analyzing a database storing a plurality of visual tokens.
