Abstract: A filling machine for sheet bags comprising a transportation means including a plurality of transportation elements for the sheet bags, for supplying the sheet bags to an opening station, a filling station, a closing station and a cooling station. The transportation means comprises a first conveying means including a plurality of first transportation elements for feeding sheet bags to the opening station, the filling station and the closing station, and a second conveying means including a plurality of second transportation elements for feeding the sheet bags to the cooling station. A transfer station is provided for transferring the sheet bags from the first conveying means to the second conveying means.

Abstract: Method of treating flexible bags, in particular for opening, filling and closing in successive treatment stations, and to a filling machine for carrying out said method. In the method the bags are transported in suspended fashion in holding devices of which at least two are provided per bag, and the bags are changed in shape by a relative movement of the respective holding devices relative to one another. In the filling machine there are receiving elements for the bags of an opening station, a filling station, and a closing station which has two holding devices per receiving element for jointly holding a bag in the upper portion of said bag, the holding devices of one receiving element being movable relative to each other.

Abstract: A packing apparatus for packing bags in packaging containers, the apparatus comprising a conveying means for the packaging containers, an endless transportation means including receiving chambers in which respective groups of sheet bags are transported that are to form a partial filling in the packaging containers, and at least two discharge stations in which the bags corresponding to one partial filling are respectively discharged into the packaging containers at the same time, and to a corresponding method. The conveying means can transport at least two packaging containers side by side and the endless transportation means is provided in the area of the discharge stations with straight discharge sections in which at least two discharge stations are respectively arranged side by side.

Abstract: A straw attaching apparatus for attaching straws to beverage-filled sheet bags, the apparatus comprising a transportation means for transporting the beverage-filled sheet bags, a supply means for supplying a straw stripe to the beverage-filled sheet bags, and a pressing means for respectively pressing a straw to a beverage-filled sheet bag, and a corresponding method. A second supply means is provided for supplying a second straw stripe, with a control unit matching the speeds and operational sequences of the transportation means of the first and second supply means such that the first supply means attaches straws to the first, third, fifth . . . sheet bag supplied, and the second supply means attaches straws to the second, fourth, sixth . . . sheet bag supplied.

Abstract: A bag for containing liquid products, for example, is made of a heat-weldable sheet material. The sheet material may suitably be a compound sheet material which provides a rear face, a front face and an insert bottom. Disposed at an upper portion of the front or rear face is a threaded closure comprising a screw-threaded pipe socket and a screw cap. The pipe socket penetrates one face of the bag and is bonded to the interior surface of the bag with the aid of a welding flange having a larger diameter. The welding flange has a chamfered outer rim cooperating with the sheet material to form a V-shaped circumferential groove which is at least partially filled with the molten plastic material of the sheet during the welding operation. The threaded closure permits the bag to be repeatedly opened and closed for piecemeal dispensing its contents.
