Publication number: 20240007332Abstract: The present invention discloses a signal receiver and signal receiving method involving nonlinear detection method for mmWave OTFS systems in high mobility scenarios with non-ideal power amplifier, which is applicable in the fifth generation (5G) and beyond networks. The millimeter wave (mmWave) system is envisioned to be a promising candidate of 5G. However, the high frequency and large bandwidth operation in mmWaves result in nonlinear distortions from the power amplifier in the system. The nonlinearly distorted signals from non-ideal power amplifier when propagate through a wideband high mobility channel tremendously degrades the systems performance. Attributed to the non-ideal power amplifier, the nonlinear distortions induce multiplicative distortions and inter symbol interference (ISI) in the OTFS system. It further causes the posterior probability of the transmitted signal non-Gaussian and analytically intractable.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 9, 2023Publication date: January 4, 2024Applicant: THE INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY KHARAGPURInventors: Preety Priya, Ch Santosh Reddy, Debarati Sen

Patent number: 10560302Abstract: In distributed communication networks, the signal received at the destination is characterized by unknown multiple carrier frequency offsets (MCFOs) and improper channel state information (CSI). The knowledge of offsets and channel gains are required for coherent deployment of distributed systems. Hence, joint training sequence (TS) design method is proposed for joint estimation of MCFOs and channel estimation over spatially correlated channel. Thus, the present invention provides a method of providing joint estimation for distributed communication systems with multiple antennas at the nodes over spatial correlated channels. The designed optimal training sequences are short length and spectrally efficient. The designed training sequence produces zero cross-correlation, facilitating channel estimation without matrix inversion, significantly lowers the complexity of the estimation algorithm.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2018Date of Patent: February 11, 2020Assignee: Indian Institute of Technology KharagpurInventors: Sucharita Chakraborty, Debarati Sen

Patent number: 9311323Abstract: Technologies are presented for data deduplication that operates at relatively high throughput and with relatively less storage space than conventional techniques. Building upon content-dependent chunking (CDC) using Rabin fingerprints, data may be fingerprinted and stored in variable-size chunks. In some examples, data may be chunked on multiple levels, for example, two levels, variable size large chunks in the first level and fixed-size sub-chunks in the second level, in order to prevent sub-chunks common to two or more data chunks from not being deduplicated. For example, at a first level, a CDC algorithm may be employed to fingerprint and chunk data in content-dependent sizes (variable sizes), and at a second level the CDC chunks may be sliced into small fixed-size chunks. The sliced CDC chunks may then be used for deduplication.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2012Date of Patent: April 12, 2016Assignee: INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, KHARAGPURInventors: Rajat Subhra Chakraborty, Bhanu Kishore Diddi

Patent number: 9077869Abstract: The invention relates to a new method and system for detection and removal of rain from video using temporal/spatiotemporal properties. Advantageously, the temporal/spatiotemporal properties are involved to separate the rain pixels from the non-rain pixels. It is thus possible by way of the present invention to involve less number of consecutive frames, reducing the buffer size and delay. It works only on the intensity plane which reduces the complexity and execution time significantly along with accurate rain detection. This new technique does not assume the shape, size and velocity of the raindrops which makes it robust to different rain conditions. This method reduces the buffer size which reduces the system cost, delay and power consumption while maintaining sufficient quality of rain detection.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2011Date of Patent: July 7, 2015Assignee: Indian Institute of Technology, KharagpurInventors: Abhishek Kumar Tripathi, Sudipta Mukhopadhyay
