  • Publication number: 20240169370
Abstract: An inhalation device for inhaling a vaporized substance that includes metering capabilities to inform a user when a particular amount of substance has been consumed. The inhalation device can include a sensor that senses the vaporized substance and a processor that utilizes data from the sensor to meter the amount consumed. The inhalation device can also define a session, which is a time in which a user can consume a particular amount. During the session, a user can start and stop inhaling and resume inhaling. When the user stops inhaling the inhalation device will halt vapor production and will resume production when the user resumes inhaling.

  • Patent number: 10661035
Abstract: An inhalation device includes a light source that emits light, a light sensor that senses an intensity of the light emitted from the light source and a processor or circuit configured to perform a metering process. The metering process may include when a signal indicating that a puff has been detected by the puff detecting element: extracting a predetermined known flow rate that is stored in the memory in advance, determining an amount of vaporized substance that have been produced, and accumulating the determined amount of vaporized substance that has been produced in the memory as a total amount produced. The metering method may also include when the accumulated total amount produced reaches a predetermined threshold: (i) shut off the heating element or (ii) send a signal to an indicator that the predetermined threshold amount of the vaporized substance has been consumed.

  • Publication number: 20190366015
Abstract: A vaporizer includes a mouthpiece that is configured to permit a user to inhale a vaporized substance from the vaporizer, and permit the user to exhale vapor into the vaporizer. The vaporizer includes an inhalation pathway that is configured to deliver the vaporized substance to the mouthpiece to permit the user to inhale the vaporized substance from the vaporizer through the mouthpiece. The vaporizer includes an exhalation pathway that is configured to receive exhaled vapor that is exhaled by the user into the vaporizer through the mouthpiece and at least substantially remove the exhaled vapor from exhausted air.
