  • Patent number: 10615592
Abstract: A method for reducing the inrush current of an inductive load, particularly a transformer, comprising the following steps: a) connecting a DC power source to the transformer for a time tc, to magnetize its magnetic core until saturation is reached, and connecting the transformer to the AC mains via an electromechanical switch, in an initially open position; b) disconnecting the transformer from the DC power source, the magnetic flux being reduced to its residual value; c) closing the electromechanical switch to complete the connection, this connection point being determined by the phase angle selected from the sinusoidal signal of the voltage power lines, in such a way that magnetic flux corresponding to the steady state voltage equals the residual magnetic flux that remains when the transformer is disconnected from the DC power source.

  • Patent number: 9881212
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for detecting hydrocarbon spill in an aqueous medium from a plurality of images of the surface of the aqueous medium obtained by an infrared camera comprising analyzing an image of the plurality of images; checking whether at least one region that could be identified as spill is displayed in the image, in case of positive result, assessing whether the point representing a multidimensional vector of characteristics associated with the region is within a reference zone defined in a multidimensional space, this reference zone being representative of multidimensional vectors of characteristics of regions corresponding to real spills; if it is determined that the point representing the multidimensional vector of characteristics is within the multidimensional reference zone, generating a warning signal of spill.

  • Patent number: 9810593
Abstract: A torque and power measuring device corresponding to the non-drive side cyclist leg, comprising a hollow shaft connecting the two bicycle crank arms with strain sensors arranged in the shaft surface. These sensors are connected to an electronic control unit housed inside the shaft, to which are also connected other different sensors to measure a plurality of interesting quantities (pedaling cadence, crank arm angular position . . . ). This electronic control unit picks the sensor signals up, stores them and performs pre-programmed software operations to later wirelessly output the result signals towards a receiving device for analysis and/or storage them, by means of an antenna located outside the shaft and anchored to the outer surface of the jointed crank arm with the shaft.

  • Patent number: 8589131
Abstract: This procedure proposes the appropriate equations that determine the rotor movement in order to obtain the aerodynamic actions for each blade in each iteration (the forces that are transmitted to the helicopter and the moments with respect to the articulations), and they are resolved by discretizations made in the rotor disc, such that that the blade elements of the partition are connected to the disc, which does not rotate, instead of to each blade. The blades pass through an azimuth range in each iteration, making a division of each blade longitudinally into ne elements, and the rotor disc into na sectors, corresponding to divisions of the range of azimuth angles. Therefore, partitions are made on ne·na blade elements, identifying each blade element by means of its distance to the rotor axis and its azimuth angle.

  • Publication number: 20120180846
Abstract: Solar tracker (1) for the orientation of solar panels (2), which is supported on a base (3) and comprises a holding structure (4) for the solar panels (2). It comprises an intermediate support element (5) to which the holding structure (4) of the panels (2) is articulated. The two movements of the holding structure (4) of the panels (2) are respectively produced by: a) a first mechanism that produces a flat movement, with three mobile rigid elements—one central (6) and two lateral (7). The rigid lateral elements (7) can be moved by means of linear actuators (10). The intermediate support element (5) can be on one of the mobile rigid elements (6, 7) or be coincident with it, and b) a second mechanism that acts on the holding structure (4) and is located on the intermediate support element (5); it comprises means to make the holding structure (4) rotate around an axis integral with the intermediate support element (5).

  • Patent number: 6824043
Abstract: Electronic ballot box of the type used in elections that not only enables the voting slips to be scanned when they are deposited in the box, despite the fact of their being in an envelope in order to assure voting secrecy, using emission of a light for this purpose, but also permits the totalling of the votes for each of the candidatures and the setting of the electoral process parameters (voters, geographical bounds, candidatures, etc.) and those of the machine itself. It is also provided with a PCMCIA card, where the electoral database is stored. The machine can work either in voting mode or in management mode, so that absolute control is available over the operation of the equipment.
