Abstract: In a quick release mechanism, a prong is retained around a skewer, the skewer extending from a fork block, between a bearing surface on the fork block and a bearing surface on a movable member. The movable member is mounted on the skewer and is axially movable thereon. The movable member is moved toward the fork block through a predetermined distance by a moving device which is mounted on the skewer and is axially movable relative thereto. The range of movement of the moving device is adjusted by an adjusting knob which is positioned at various axial positions on the skewer.
