Publication number: 20050189356Abstract: An improved lid for sealing a container is provided. The improvement is a set of radial beads, evenly spaced on the lid surface. When the lid-sealed container is under a pressure differential relative to the environment, the beads form locations in which resulting creases are predisposed to form. The even distribution of creases contributes to the reliability of the seal between the lid and container.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2004Publication date: September 1, 2005Applicant: INDUSTRIAL CONTAINERS LTD.Inventor: Stephen Arshinoff

Patent number: 5816439Abstract: A container having walls and a handle attached to the exterior of the container is disclosed. The container has handle receiving means in the form of a keyhole-shaped slot spaced apart from the wall of the container by a distance sufficient to accommodate a flange on the end of the handle. The keyhole-shaped slot has an orifice connected to a tapered slot which is open at the end opposed to the orifice. A shaft located at the end of the handle at each of its opposed ends has two spaced-apart flanges thereon. The shaft and the keyhole cooperatively act for insertion of the shaft into the orifice of the keyhole. At least one of the flanges attached to the handle is sectioned to form an edge in the shape of a hook. During insertion of the handle onto the container, the hook contacts a fulcrum located juxtaposed to the tapered slot of the keyhole which acts as a lever to snap the handle onto the container.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 1997Date of Patent: October 6, 1998Assignee: Industrial Containers Ltd.Inventors: Peter Lovell, Ronald J. Patent number: 5785203Abstract: A container comprising a main body portion having a top rim, at least one side wall and a bottom wall, and having a tamper evident connection with a lid. The tamper evident connection comprising a channel within a skirt projection outwardly from the side wall below the top rim, a gripping portion of the lid for receiving the top rim and thereby securing the lid to the container. The gripping portion having a distal end to be received within the channel, thereby rendering difficult access to the distal end. The skirt having a breakable and removable portion for facilitating access to the distal end of the gripping portion upon breaking the breakable and removable portion.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1995Date of Patent: July 28, 1998Assignee: Industrial Containers Ltd.Inventors: Stephen H.
