Abstract: In a heterogeneous wireless network system, a apparatus for notifying a mobile station of existence of traffic from a network to which the mobile station is not connected receives an identifier of the mobile station from the network to which the mobile station is not connected. The apparatus checks the network to which the mobile station having the same identifier as the received is connected, and transmits a signal for indicating existence of traffic to the mobile station by using the network's interface.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for interpolating an object reference pixel in an annular image and a method and apparatus for encoding/decoding an annular image. The method of interpolating a reference pixel in an annular image comprises selecting a plurality of reference pixels arranged in the direction of a distortion of the annular image and interpolating the object reference pixel based on the selected plurality of reference pixels.

Abstract: A prediction encoder/decoder and a prediction encoding/decoding method. The prediction encoder includes a prediction encoding unit starting prediction from a origin macroblock of an area of interest of a video frame, continuing prediction in a direction of ripple scanning with respect to a square ring that includes macroblocks and surrounds the origin macroblock, and encoding video by performing intra-prediction in 8×8 block units using information about a macroblock that has been just coded in a square ring including a macroblock to be coded and at least one of macroblocks that are adjacent to the macroblock to be coded in a square ring that has been just coded.

Abstract: A video encoder/decoder and a video encoding/decoding method and medium. The video decoder includes a decoding unit which receives a video packet in which more significant items of items included in blocks of macroblocks, which make up the video packet, are arranged in a front part of the video packet and less significant items are arranged in a rear part of the video packet. The decoding unit sequentially decodes the items arranged in the video packet. Accordingly, an FGS encoding function is effectively performed without degrading the bit rate.
