  • Publication number: 20100172587
Abstract: A method for setting a lip region of a face included in an image, including setting a first region and a second region in an image including a face, identifying contrast information of the first region, setting a threshold for binarization using the contrast information, and binarizing the second region based on the threshold. A region in which a pixel having an identical binary value continuously distributed within a predetermined number of ranges in the binarized image is set as an eye candidate object. An eye region is then extracted from the eye candidate object based on geometric characteristic of an eye region in an image, and the lip region is set with reference to the extracted eye region based on geometric information of the eye region and the lip region.

  • Publication number: 20100151876
Abstract: A technology for inter-cell interference control is provided. In one general aspect, the inter-cell interference may be controlled by resource allocation scheduling or power management. A cell may be divided into a plurality of regions. A constant available resource band and a selectively available band are allocated to each region. Each of the allocated resource bands is assigned with an interference characteristic. The resource allocation scheduling and the power management are performed according to the resources allocated to the respective regions and the interference characteristics assigned to the respective resources.

  • Publication number: 20100111438
Abstract: An anisotropic diffusion method and apparatus based on the direction of an edge are disclosed. In the anisotropic diffusion apparatus, directional pattern masking is performed to determine the direction of an edge in an image including noise, and values obtained through the directional pattern masking are convoluted to calculate the magnitude of an image. If the calculated magnitude value of the edge is larger than a threshold value, the edge of the image is preserved, while if the calculated magnitude value of the edge is not larger than the threshold value, noise cancellation is strengthened, whereby noise can be effectively canceled (or concealed) while preserving the edge representing the characteristics of the image, and thus, an image of high quality can be obtained.
