Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for predicting the resistance of a human subject to clopidogrel, which comprises detecting the presence or absence of a A allele at position 636 of exon 4 in the CYP2C19 gene, wherein the presence of the A allele is indicative of a clopidogrel resistance. The present method may be very useful in predicting the resistance of a human subject to clopidogrel and contribute to more effective chemotherapy for patients having coronary artery disease and drug-eluting stent.
