  • Patent number: 9702782
Abstract: It is proposed a method for detecting a leak in a fuel system of a combustion engine comprising a fuel tank. The method is such that it comprises the steps of: obtaining a first set of data comprising at least a pressure data measured in the fuel system at a first time; adding energy to fluids contained in the fuel system, said energy being produced or wasted by means already present on board the vehicle for other purposes; obtaining a second set of data comprising at least a pressure data measured in the fuel system at a second time; determining the presence/absence of a leak in said fuel system by calculating a predetermined function on the basis of said first and second sets of data.

  • Publication number: 20150076147
Abstract: The invention is based on the insight that a filling system obtained by combining a “Kruse” compatible threaded socket and an annular magnet as required for the operation of the “Elaflex” nozzle, will exhibit air exchange problems related to the difference in the positioning of the respective air intake openings of the “Kruse” bottle and the “Elaflex” nozzle. More particularly, the invention is based on the insight that by judiciously providing a chamber in fluid communication with the volume of air or vapor in the tank, filling may be made possible with a “Kruse” bottle as well as with an “Elaflex” nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20110290013
Abstract: A capacitive probe comprises a first electrode, a second electrode, and a third electrode. A cap is positioned on a first end of the first electrode and a first end of the second electrode. A base is positioned on a second end of the first electrode, a second end of the second electrode, and a second end of the third electrode. A support is positioned on a first end of the third electrode and in contact with a surface of the second electrode. The electrodes can be coaxial cylinders or parallel plates. The gauge can be used with a system for measuring a quantity and quality of a liquid, more specifically, of an aqueous urea solution in the tank of an SCR system.

  • Publication number: 20110079000
Abstract: Process for starting an SCR system intended for transporting urea from a tank to the exhaust gases of an engine using a feed line, this system comprising a rotary pump controlled by a controller and driven by a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor that comprises a rotor equipped with at least one permanent magnet and with a stator comprising at least 3 electromagnetic coils in which the direct current can flow according to a given sequence to make the rotor rotate, according to which, before starting the pump, a temperature is measured using a sensor and if this temperature is below a setpoint temperature, before making the rotor rotate, the current is passed through at least one of the coils in a way such that it preheats the pump without making the rotor rotate.

  • Publication number: 20110027740
Abstract: Process for heating a urea component of a SCR system comprising besides said component, a temperature sensor, a heating device in the component, according to which: 1. the temperature (Tcpt) of the liquid in the component is determined and compared to a 1st setpoint (T0); 2. if the temperature (Tcpt) is greater than the 1st setpoint (T0), step 1 is repeated; 3. if the temperature (Tcpt) is less than or equal to the 1st setpoint (T0), the heating device is actuated, 4. the time during which the heating device is actuated is measured and the heating device is stopped if this time is greater than a time t1; 5. the temperature (Tcpt) is determined after a time t2 and compared to a 2nd setpoint (T1 with T1>T0); if the temperature (Tcpt) is less than or equal to the 2nd setpoint (T1) the heating device is actuated and step 4 is repeated; 6. if the temperature (Tcpt) is greater than the 2nd septoint (T1), the heating device is stopped and step 1 is repeated.

  • Publication number: 20090260716
Abstract: Plug system built into the top of a fuel tank filler pipe, comprising a plug with a locking device, a fuel flap able to occupy a position allowing access to the pipe and a position preventing access to the pipe, and a mechanical connection system able to transmit a movement from the flap to the locking device in such a way as to lock or unlock the plug. The mechanical connection system comprises components able to interact by part of a movement of one component being transmitted to another, adjacent component in such a way that only part of the movement of the flap can be transmitted to the locking device in order to lock or unlock the plug.
