Abstract: A method is disclosed. The method includes receiving color data for an object to be printed and performing post color processing for each pixel in the object if the object is a graphics/text object, while no processing is performed if the object is an image object. Post color processing is performed by determining if a pixel is black or gray and converting the pixel to K only black color if the pixel is black or gray.

Abstract: A method is disclosed. The method includes receiving print job data, rasterizing the print job data to generate image data for each page of the print job data to be printed, calculating a coverage per unit area for two or more color planes of each page of the image data and calculating a flushing mask to flush nozzles of the inkjet print head.
Abstract: A method disclosed. The method includes a print application determining if capacity is available at a print server to receive print jobs in a print job queue, analyzing the characteristics of the print jobs in the print job queue if there is no capacity available at the print server to receive the print jobs and automatically prioritizing the print jobs in the print job queue based upon the characteristics.
Abstract: A method disclosed. The method includes a print application determining if capacity is available at a print server to receive print jobs in a print job queue, transmitting the print jobs if there is no capacity available at the print server; and entering a sleep mode for a predetermined sleep interval if there is no capacity available at the print server.
Abstract: A mechanism for integrating print quality enhancement (PQE) and multi-bit halftone data is disclosed. A system of embodiments of the invention includes a print control unit communicably coupled to a printer, the print control unit operable to process received multi-bit input print data for printing by the printer. The system further comprises a PQE card communicably coupled with the printer, the PQE card configured to separate multi-bit text and line art input data from multi-bit halftone image input data in the multi-bit input print data, ignore any of the identified multi-bit halftone image input data for purposes of applying PQE technology to the identified multi-bit halftone image input data, and apply the PQE technology to the identified multi-bit text and line art input data. Lastly, the system includes a print head communicably coupled to the printer, the print head operable to print multi-bit output created by the PQE card.

Abstract: Print verification is done by scanning the printed copies, thereby forming a stream of scanned images of the specific pages. Digitized images from the stream are then spatially aligned page by page, line by line and pixel (pel) by pixel (pel) with corresponding digitized images in a stream of source images. The source and scanned images are compared to find pel sequences that are different. These differences represent defects in the printed copies.
Abstract: A computer generated method disclosed. The method includes receiving a print job including a plurality of print files, processing a first resource in a first print file by determining if the name of the first resource matches a name of a previously processed resource, determining if data within the first resource matches data within a previously processed resource if the name of the first resource matches the name of the previously processed resource and renaming the first resource if the data within the first resource does not match data within the previously processed resource.
Abstract: A method disclosed. The method includes receiving a Job Definition Format (JDF) job ticket indicating a document file to be printed is located in a JDF file path, mapping the JDF file path to a file path recognized at a print server, retrieving the document file and processing the document file for printing.

Abstract: A computer generated method is disclosed. The method includes receiving data values and performing a 1-D 16×16 discrete cosine transform (DCT) on the data values by replacing each irrational constant used in multiplication operations with a rational dyadic constant that approximates the irrational constant. The output of the DCT is then scaled by a set of scale factors that refine the precision of the approximations used for the 16×16 DCT.
Abstract: A system is disclosed. The system includes a print engine having one or more ink jet print heads and ink lines coupled to provide ink to each of the print heads. The system also includes a fluid change manifold coupled to the ink lines to remove fluid from the print engine via the ink lines.

Abstract: A print control unit coupled with a printer, the print control unit having host to provide partial resource components to a complex resource generator, the partial resources components including printing instructions. The complex resource generator to generate a shell representing a complex resource, generate a partial complex resource having the partial resource components, the shell to hold the partial complex resource, and store the partial complex resource to be referenced later.
Abstract: A printing system is disclosed. The printing system includes a first printer to print a first barcode on a medium including variable to be printed on the medium and a second printer to print the variable data to the medium based on the first barcode and to print a second barcode to the medium for verification that the variable data has been accurately printed to the medium.
Abstract: A method disclosed. The method includes receiving color pixel data for an object to be printed, receiving predefined color values, calculating color space coordinates corresponding to the predefined color values, performing monochromatic hue mapping to map each pixel to the calculated color space coordinate values and color mapping the pixels from a source color space to a destination color space.

Abstract: A method is disclosed. The method includes receiving an object at a first image transform within a control unit, the first image transform searching for the object in a local cache, retrieving the object from a second image transform upon a determination that the object been previously received at the control unit and processed at the second image transform; and the first image transform performing a raster image process on the object upon a determination that the object has not been previously received at the control unit.
Abstract: A printing system is disclosed. The printing system includes a first printer to print to a medium a first type of data and a shadow image of variable data to be printed on the medium, and a second printer to print the variable data to the medium based on the barcode over the shadow image.
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and program generating user defined marking settings to print marks to control post-processing devices. A user interface is generated to enable user input to define at least one marking setting comprising a name of the marking setting, a dimension of a marking, and a location of the marking on the print medium. Marking settings control a printer to output markings on a print medium. The outputted markings on the print medium control at least one post processor device to perform post processing operations on the print medium. User input is received from the user interface defining at least one marking setting. The user defined at least one marking setting is stored with an existing set of marking settings to control the printer.
